So, who else here reads Diana Gabaldon's books? I read each one when they were first published, and loved them. I've just recently started, out of nostalgia, to read them a second time. Over the past few years, I guess I forgot a lot of the plot twists, so it's still quite engaging to me. I also managed to forget just how sexy they were at times: my boyfriend started to flip through Outlander to see what had me so enthralled, and he now refers to it as "that porno novel". *sigh*

Anyhoo, the lady at my bookstore told me that Gabaldon is now working on a prequel novel about Jamie's past; if true, it sounds interesting. Has anyone else heard this, and does it seem plausible?

I've read them all too. I haven't heard about a prequel, but it sounds good to me. She has a website and has exerpts of the books she is working on.

I read them all years ago and then re-read them when she released The Fiery Cross. Her next one is due early next year I think. It's been awhile since I've checked her website.

"porno novel" LOL that's funny. They do get a bit racy at times but that just adds to their goodness.

I'm partial to redheads. I own three of them.

Candidlynuts: I was able, some time back, to get hold of Lord John and the Private Matter on cd, unabridged. I only had it for three days before I had to return it, but I sat up late to listen to the whole thing. It was excellent; Lord John is such a fascinating character, and this tells a lot of his story, as opposed to that of Claire and Jamie. By all means, get yourself a copy when you can, and you will not be disappointed.

Thanks for the notice about the DG book about Lord John, Insomniac!

I've read all of them (the first one twice) and was enthralled. It's a wonderful thing for me to find an author I really, really like.

Now I'm getting very interested in Phillip Pullmans' Dark Matter trilogy. It's good. However, it's written for teens, I think, but it is very good. It's kind of anti-Christian, lol, in an obtuse sort of way.

    Cheers!

    Great book.

Another series of books are by Patricia Cornwell, about Dr. Kay Scarpetta, a medical examiner. Really good, detailed murder mysteries.

Count me in as a Gabaldon fan - I stumbled upon Outlander years ago. Wonderful author, great series...I was waiting for the next one, but I read that she is doing some other projects (including a book with one of her children), so we may be waiting a while.
