What sort of things wouldst he write?
SHAKESPEARE: if Will was alive today and wrote for the Watchtower....
On the blood issue: "Out! Out, damned spot!"
On Watchtower Content
?Here will be an old abusing of God?s patience, and the King?s English.?
?If you prick us, do we not bleed??
On the Imperfect Leadership
?They say best men are moulded out of faults,?
On Mental Health
?Farewell the tranquil mind; farewell content.?
On Watchtower Authority
?We were not born to sue, but to command.?
?Methinks I am a prophet new inspir?d,?
On past Presidents
?The evil that men do lives after them.?
?The devil can cite Scripture for his purpose.?
Sorry Terry, but my mind is more toward the modern droll. I preferto imagine the WT as an episode of MXC.
- Don't get eliminated! -
Nothing, Willie wrote about people being people. The WT write about people being borg.
This isn't Will writing for the WT, but Helena (from A Midsummer Night's Dream) facing a Judicial Committee:
O spite! O hell! I see you are all bent
To set against me for your merriment:
If you were civil and knew courtesy,
You would not do me thus much injury.
Can you not hate me, as I know you do,
But must you join in souls to mock me too?
If you were men, as men you are in show,
You would not use a gentle lady so;
Oh for a muse of fire
that would ascend the brightest heaven of invention
A District Convention Platform for a stage
Elders and COs to act
And GB/Branch members to behold the swelling scene
Then should the Warlike Jehovah like himself ascend the Port of Mars
and at his heals leshed in like hounds
should famine, sword and fire crouch for employment
I love it!!
WE have such clever, well read people here on JWD! I've often said that, since I became part of the group........and I truly mean it. I myself never developed a fondness for the Bard, hence my non-involvement thus far in this fascinating, creative thread!
old Will would say.....
" Jehovahs Witnesses by any other name ......"
