I seem to recall something in the past about the Watchtower and CESNUR (Center for Study of New Religions) does anyone know what it was?

I'm assuming you meant Cesnur. If so you can highlight your title and right click and edit your title so others will understand what this is about.

On the embedded page above scroll down and you will find several Observer articles on the Watchtower envolvement.
Or use a search engine such as Google and use a phrase as "Watchtower Cesnur". It well bring up countless results including official Cesnur web pages and a lot of commentary on the Watchtower envolvement from other sources.
