Based on "official" Bible based doctrine, were you "illegally disfellowshipped?

I have been reading many threads on disfellowsipping, and it makes me wonder if there were many who were disassociated, or thrown out of the org. for reasons other than what the Watchtower officially teaches?

    How did you handle it?

    Thanks....Hubert

My judicial meeting apparently did not follow protocol. I was never officially charged with anything and they never specifically said what I was being df'd for. I called the elder that df'd me a few months ago because I was curious what the charge had been. He said, 'porneia'.. which is interesting considering I never actually admitted to sex, or fondling... .

i was df'd for 'bad association' and drinking....and i'm sure my suicide attempt right before my last judicial meeting was included in that somewhere (even though it was never mentioned)...i'm not sure that those were "disfellowship-able" charges, especially since i was (in their eyes) a good jw until then and had never been on reproof of any kind....however, at the meeting the week after i was df'd the 'special talk' was about drinking and sex, and (like you, sp) i never admitted to any sexual indiscretions and none were ever proven....

Same here. That was very surprising to me. I knew of several that had been reproved several times and never got df'd. I mess up ONCE and got kicked out.

i hear ya, sistah! *high five*

my younger sister lives with my hardcore jw mom, is baptized and (a) dating a man in jail for his 3rd strike for murder, (b) smokes pot and has been drinking since 14, (c) been on reproof at least 5 times, and (d) has several tattoos.....is she getting df'd? nooooo...she gets 'shepherding calls'....and my mother just tells me that the the society (and it's rules)haven't changed and the elders are 'on it'....whaaaa???

According to dub theology concerning disfellowshipping/disassociation......a person has to ADMIT to a sin......or have at least two witnesses that witnessed the claimed sin. Those that were DFed any other way, were dealt with unjustly by the WTBTS own standards.

do you know if they keep records of all the df's that they do? just curious....not that i want to go back, but it would be interesting if there was a way to get an official copy of something saying why...

Yes, they keep 'records'. I believe what they do is, they write a paragraph describing your offense/what you were df'd for, then they seal it in an envelope only to be opened if you seek reinstatement. It's kept in the KH for a while (and then maybe sent to Bethel?) Also, it's only supposed to be only the 3 JC elders who know what's held within the envelope (yeah right ). When I talked to the elder, I asked for a copy of the contents of my envelope.. he refused.

Read Matthew 18:15-17 then tell me if anyone had this protocol, supposedly established by Jesus, followed when they were DFed. It sure wasn't what they did with me... I got 1 "visit" only, not 3, was asked to DA myself and, when I wrote a letter declining to do so, they DFed me behind my back and I have no idea what the official "grounds" or charges were.

Since when is disfellowshipping of any kind bible based??? Seems to me, it is just another policy where the witnesses, yet again, twist scripture to fit their own policies. Therefore, I officially deem them all illegal, null, and void!
