SIXY What have you done ELSEWHERE now has DSL......what is this board coming too LOLlol... naaaa... that story is from a few years ago and is actually what caused me to get my cable modem to begin with. Ok... a quick update....
Last night the rep I talked to said that I could drop by the Comcast building to pick up the HDTV DVR Box today instead of waiting two weeks for them to come out to do the install. Great idea I thought!
Nope!
I got there and the girl behind the desk (classic low wage worker with an attitude) immediately said: "Oh great, another one! They keep sending people here but we can't give out the equipment like that."
Ugggg... so she does some stuff on her computer and tells me that she will call me when she has a time scheduled for someone to come out and hook up everything. I leave and go home.
When I get home I notice that not only is my cable off, but now my cable modem is off too!
I call tech support and they say that someone screwed up the work order and canceled my internet service in the process. Well, after about seven phone calls and going around in circles for a few hours, they finally got my internet service back up. As it turns out, the television people cannot work on the internet service and vise-versa... so I ended up having to take notes with instructions from each side and then call the other side and tell them what needed to be done. I went back and forth between them several times before they finally got everything sorted out.
To make things worst, when I made my final call to re-order my television service, some guy with an attitude kept telling me that the plan and special promotional prices I originally had were impossible. Uggggggg.
I had taken notes the other night, so I was able to tell him exactly what was done, but he kept insisting that the system would not let him do what was needed. So I asked him to just transfer me back to the girl I originally talked to yesterday... luckily I had made note of her name and extension.
She quickly set everything back up as before... only now I have to wait until the 26th of the month before someone can come out.
One nice thing that came from all of this fuss is they gave me four months of internet service at a promotional price of $24.00 a month. Damnit... I'm in TV withdrawal!!! Sure, I was able to dig out an old rabbit-ears antenna and hook it up... but it only picks up three or so channels and with A LOT of static. Go ahead, pick on the poor spoiled American who can't watch his TV for two weeks and is pitching a fuss over it!!!!
