Here is something that Google is giving away... it is called Picasa. It does a great job of organizing all of the pics on your computer into chronological and topical order. It also let's you use a few basic image editing tools such as red-eye reduction, cropping and enhancement. It also has a great little tool for making a slide show for a web page using a feature called "Export album to web". If you want to display a bunch of your pics on a web site, let this tool do all the hard work for you.
After installing it I found the way it organizes everything in chronological order to be very entertaining... you literally see your life unfold in front of you.
