Well hell...if this hasn't been one of the most encounters I've have experienced, well I don't know what else compares.

Last November's Toronto Apostafest was pretty cool, but meeting Country Girl for the first time, well....she's just a freakin' darling!

    I LOVE HER!

Her husband John, he's great. He also had me in stitches more than once. He's great.

iiz2cool, myself (Rayzorblade) , Uzzah, Country Girl & husband, have had some time to hang out. It's been great.

Hopefully, we'll be adding Mortons68 to the mix this week as well.

If you haven't met COUNTRY GIRL: she's a blast! I haven't laughed so hard, in so long.

A few of you on here know her, have communicated with her: she speaks highly of all of you. Yes, even the wacky eastcoast Canucks (my addage).

I hope to get down to Texas and meet-up with the folks whom I've found not only supportive, but warm and kind, without even asking for a shoulder to cry on: they were there.

Country Girl and hubby are off to Niagara Falls today (Monday).

    Many pictures to follow.

    Athene.

I'm so thrilled, still enamoured by your presence up here in Toronto.

    She rocked.

Her husband John, he's great. As I have indicated before, he had me in stitches more than a few times. He's a great person.

Athene is everyones best big sister.

I wish she was my 'real' big sister; in some ways, well ... maybe she is.

We hung out together and I have to admit, I hated to see her go. We just hit it off like family, it was surreal.

For those of you who are wishing to meet "Country Girl" in-person, you're in for a real treat.

She's the nicest person you could ever hope to meet.

I miss her something fierce right now.

    I do mean that.

Athene: room for one more younger brother??

    Sweet Baby Ray:

What a precious work of God you are. Even though you don't believe in him.. can I still say that?

I so much enjoyed meeting you, and Uzzah and jiz2cool. What a good time I had with these fine folks. What great folks the Canadians are. I want to be a Canadian now.. okay, next after being a Texan. Hehehhe. Thanks so much for all your kind words, and for showing us around with your inimitable hospitality. You are such a fantastic host, and we sure enjoyed traveling the backways and quaint streets of Toronto, with a little story for every corner! I think Toronto is an incredibly beautiful and diverse city, and I just loved seeing all the different cultures represented in the little neighborhoods tucked about the city. From the different radio stations, to the shops of China Town, to the incredible food in Greek Town. All cultures are so well represented! The city is really laid back for being so large, and very well ordered! I was quite impressed by the friendliness, helpfulness, and hospitality of the Canadians. I *love* them!

But most of all.. I miss you Ray-Ray. I kept remarking to hubbie on the way back how much I am going to miss you, and it 's like leaving my family behind. Member that song "I left my heart in San Francisco"? Well, I left a piece of my heart in Toronto! It's kind of like a letdown now.. I wish you were my next door neighbor. What a unique and fun individual you are, and my life has been greatly enhanced by having you as my brother.... I was so unnerved about meeting you in person. That maybe we wouldn't "hit it off" as well as we do in emails.. But I was so pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to talk and share with you. I cried when I saw you walking out the lobby doors of the hotel. In my books you are creme of the crop, top of the top, toppermost of the poppermost!

Anyway... enough of this mutual admiration society agenda.. hehehhe. Thanks so much for all your fun stories, showing us around the cities, and for taking the time out of your busy schedule to do so. We both enjoyed visiting your beautiful city and it's wonderful inhabitants. I know... I say "wonderful" to much. Okay.. how about magnificent?

I sure hope to see you again, soon. Don't be a stranger to Texas. In the words of Lyle Lovett:

"That's right, you're not from Texas! That's right.. you're not from Texas! But Texas wants you anyway!" Hehehhe.

Many warm hugs to you, brother!

    xoxoxo Country Girl and Rat

P.S. Shotgun... many hugs from your crazy Greek sister... Next time, you better get your arse up to Toronto, too!

Ack! Ray I'm sorry I missed this thread. I've been so busy with sick kids lately I haven't been on the boards (or at work) much the past couple of weeks.

I'm so glad you guys got together!

She's the nicest person you could ever hope to meet

You betcha. She's a sweetie. Now you and Drew have got to come down to Texas. Although you might want to come down when it's a little cooler.

Thanks for calling me Walter to let me know where you were, sadly it was such a nice day and I ran into a friend of mine called Jack Daniels and I couldn't get off my deck or out of the pool.

Sorry I missed the visitors :(

Actually, Frenchie, we'll most likely be in France in November. Up for a meeting? My husband has 30 days' vacation every year (after 10 dedicated years at the company) and we have yet to use up Last Years' vacation, plus part of this years' vacation days... so we're looking at a month, although I can hardly beleive he wants to stay away from work that long.. heheheh. I am hoping we will be able to fly from New York to Paris and stay for four days, then on to Athens, then to my village. My really great concern is that my Greek relatives *always* want to be with us, and that we won't get any sightseeing done due to staying in the village the whole time sitting around drinking coffee and ouzo and shooting the sh*t. That's just what they *do*... and it's aggravating for people that want to see the sights. My Mother expressed that the last time she was there. They don't want to go to see all the sights.. they just want to visit.. which is good if you have been there four or five times...

But I think we're coming to France in November, staying four days, and then going on to Athens. Can you show us around Paris? I've been brushing up on my French language lessons.. and I think I know enough to get us by. We've gotten a video where we can learn French....I love that language.. and maybe we can make sense of everything. It would be wonderful if you could hang out with us! I look forward to meeting you. I have always wanted to go there...
