Just curious.... I learned when I was 17 years old, when I was a JW
(against their rules). I still can read it.... I like artificial languages.

Nur scivolema.... Mi lernis ghin kiam mi estis 17 jara

I ran into that word in the new Stephen King "Dark Tower VI" book, referring to a language.

No, I don't know it, btw.

I still remember how to count in it

un du tri kvar kvin ses sep oct nov dek

it has a very tinny and harsh sound to it, unlike real languages which is one of the supposed reasons it never did nor will catch on

Klingon on the other hand was developed by a linguist and is now spoken by more people around the world then esperanto.

    *SIGH*

It always amazes me when I hear this. Why do these devotees of Klingon not spend their time learning, say, a useful second language (like French, German, Italian, Hindi, or Chinese (hey, one in five people on this planet are Chinese, if you can't beat them, join them).

Honestly, what looks better on a resume:

    "I Speak Mandarin"

    or

"I am level Five in Klingon and have the secret docoder ring to prove it. Hab SoSlI' Quch!".

Sheesh. The way some people fritter away their lives.

Now let me get back to frittering away my life on JWD. ;)

I wouldn't be too hasty about it not catching on. China ten years ago began a low level experiment with Esperanto and English. While millions of Chinese are learning English for economic reasons, right now more people in mainland China speak Esperanto than people in America speak English. It's kind of a quiet revolution that is helping China that has hundreds of dialects overcome some of its internal barriers.
