The GB is obsessed with behavior control; they have it backwards, as usual. Haranguing and cajoling, guilt trips and scolding work only so well in controlling behavior.
They totally miss the point that if people are able to absorb the message of Jesus they will be motivated themselves to change how they look at the world; the change in their life follows naturally.
Such a concept though does not allow for the micromanaging of behavior that the GB is enthralled with. I see one of the messages of Jesus as being we do not need religious structure to please God; no structure means no punitive actions against "sinners". I am not even sure that Jesus meant for the amount of structure that Paul brought to the early congregations.
As a faith, they suck.
As a corporation, they are quite efficient.
