Hello Ray
Most ISP offers dial up service as a back up to DSL. Might take a few reconfiguration changes until the new one comes in, but it's worth checking into it.
Beats doing macrame!

The back-up dial-up.....well my original 56K modem that was inside, was removed: it was it rotten shape! Ugh!
Anyways, so no dial-up either, even though my ISP provides that at no extra charge.
It's amazing how one can be so reliant on one's home PC, then it conks out.....good grief!
Anyways, I'm at my neighbourhood internet cafe, and there's a resident cockatiel seated beside me preening herself. I'm not joking. This little bird, flies from cubicle to cubicle being friendly and squeaking periodically. Kind of nice, sort of like 'home'.
Catch ya all later.....when that damn box (Modem) is either fixed or replaced. I'm going to rent next time instead of buying. I may purchase a second-hand 56K modem here...now that I see they have them. I hope it works.

But, I do have a new one. Free of charge...yippee!
I just got home, and I plugged everything with a great deal of anxiousness, and presto! Here I am.
