Your thread is very timely for me, Nos, since my ex-wife likes to pick up really crappy old furniture she thinks are antiques. She would not know an antique from the hole in her head, but I love to mess with her and often suggest to her that perhaps her spiritual and marital problems stem from having some demon possessed furnishing in her home. My daughter told me that last weekend she had a garage sale and finally got rid of some her ugly crappy furniture.

I sure as heck wouldn't go anywhere near anyplace that was considered haunted . I would probly take a look at the megadeth slayer stuff tho .LOL

LOL! That reminds me of my dad. He used to be very influenced by this friend of his who would buy crap at yard sales, and then sell it at antique auctions for more money. The big difference is his friend knew what an antique was (and also bought large items). My dad has picked up all kinds of little crap at yard sales. He keeps trying to take it all to an antique auction, but they keep turning him away, LOL! His favorite TV show is the "Antique Roadshow".

I think we need to start a "demon stories" topic thread. I got some killer ones!

The first JW shackle to be shrugged off was the persistent cult induced phobia, that having 'left the truth'.I would now be easy prey for demonic assult. Rather it's scary how much devout JW's have such an inordinate spooky paranoia of the demons.I mean, don't they divine protection, their being the one true religion and all? One peek at my site www.DannyHaszard.com and it is a foregone conclusion I Do NOT have any divine protection from the Jehovah. How does it come to be than that despite my defiant irreverance, I am standing tall? I HAVE NO FEAR OF THE DEMONS COME AND GET ME YOU DEMENTED BULLYS.

I recall a JW couple having a garage sale, and they teamed up with one of their neighbors. They warned me not to look through the cassettes which consisted of Slayer, and Megadeth.
Most JW burban legends I've heard are always "friend of a friend of a friend" but there was a couple in the congregation whom I was good friends with that had demon problems (sounds funny just typing that). I recall her telling me about this one night when she was in bed and this "force" started feeling her up (and down). She went into great detail about it. Actually, my then wife use to get sooo pissed that I was the "go to" elder for this couples problem. To be honest, I was getting, um...a bit worked up because she was extremely good looking, I'm talking model like. This problem went on for quite some time. It all ended when they got rid of some end table they had bought at a garage sale. I guess demons are horny little bastards (no pun intended).

Actually, 99.9% of the JWs in my area did not think stuff purchased at a garage sale was demonized. Instead, if they saw a sale in service, we would all stop and check out the merchandise.

i think a lot of it can be in the mind. they get told to beware of buying secong hand stuff because of demons, and so the their mind is programmed so that when they buy something second hand they believe that they experience strange phenomena and then blame the secondhand item.
i remember when i built a cardboard pyramid, my mom started having nightmares of demons because she was worried about the pyramid being demonic. i told her that it was all in her mind, based on fear. she stopped having the nightmares after that. i now have a crystal pyramid, nothing's said and there's no problem.
