City are just having a temporary 20 year drop in form

It's good to see anyone but ManU Arsenal win the Premiership though

America doesn't join in with sports that the rest of the world does. It would only be an also ran and they couldn't cope being beaten by little countries.

They just declare their local leage "the world series" and claim world championship status

Simon....you have just treaded onto a minefield....

Expect a full report of the RED-ASS that we're going to give Mexico TONIGHT in the Cotton Bowl. I'll be there!

Well, we got as far in the English did in 2002...and Italy, too...OH WAIT, We got FURTHER than them...

1990 --first WC in 40 years
1994 --Round of 16, beat Colombia 2-1 lost to Brazil 1-0
    1998 --0-3...yeah, yeah, a hiccup
2002 --Quarterfinals...pimp-slapped Portgual and Mexico, lost to the Huns in a game we owned.
2006....It's only a matter of time....

    Totally agree Simon.

I'd say that 2002 was the hiccup, and not 98. Guess we'll all have to wait 'till 2006 to watch the yanks slapped back down. ; )

    Ahem:

    UNITED STATES 1 (Pope 90')

    MEXICO 0

We outshot, outhustled, outbrawled, outmarked and outattacked Mexico all night. Donovan hit the crossbar in the 33'. We didn't have our four best keepers, so we used Johnnie Walker in net (1st cap, 1st clean sheet). No McBride, no Reyna, no O'Brien...still had enough attackers.

It was an All-MLS side. and they did this on the road (In Dallas...With all the Hispanics, US-Mexico games in Texas are home games for the Tricolores. We had 50K there, and only 5K of us were Yank supporters.)

2002 ain't the hiccup....it's first shot in the palace coup.
