I think that just like the 1914 date starts to seem more and more irrelevent and absurd as time passes, so will the number 144,000. These things are dated. "Millions now living may never die" has become "millions now living believed this lie and are clearly dead" and as we pass 2014 and all the so called "remnant" die off, people inexplicably linked to the "faithful slave" the only people deemed righteous enough to handle new light, may just have to trump up some stop press new light before they disappear alltogether.

Again, the Proclaimers book states [p720] that in 1919 - 3 years after Russells death - there were just 5,793 active Bible Students
Nic......jesus had many followers.......but were they truely followers? Few stood up for him at his death. I wonder how many would have stood up for Russell under the same circumstances? Probably more than a handfull.
