When were believing dubs we beleived what we were told in the Bible and that "God is Love" after all it says so in the Bible,,, but it is very funny that we never really examined it too closely,, we just fearfully agreed,,, and may have uttered words such as these:

"O yes God is the absolute perfect example of love",,
But in the back of our minds,, we some how knew we shouldn't examine it too closely ,,for fear we might anger this Loving god, by ever doubting that he only has the purest and most noble intentions.

In Psalms 137: 8&9 it was by inspiration of jehovah that the israelites sang this song with feeling and gusto an inspired call for jehovah's vengence,, listen closely to its refrains: O daughter of Babylon, who are to be dispoiled,
Happy will he be that rewards you
With your own treatment with which you treated us. Happy will be he that grabs ahold and does dash to pieces
    Your children against the rock.

I think Jesus would feel that's a little harsh,, don't you???,, but maybe not since he was loyal to jehovah and one day will come as a mighty king with jehovah vengence on all those that don't have faith or believe what christians are preaching.
I have a hard time understanding jesus words,, that we must love our enemies and be like our father in heaven who loves the wicked because when I think of armagedon and the unbeleivers being trampled like grapes,,it gives me a very different picture.

Interesting. I wonder if the reference in Revelation about "getting out of Babylon the Great before you receive part of her plagues" is part of this.

AND THE LESSON HERE IS? Better be good!!

SECOND: Pay attention to warnings from prophets. God doesn't just wipe you out without a warning and a chance to save yourself.

Think of it this way. There's a notice on your building that says 3 days from now this building will be condemned and burned to the ground because it's a disgrace and anyone remaining in the buildnig showing they support such corruption will be burned along with it.

Everybody gets out but a few people who love Babylon's ways and they decide to stay in the building, preferring to be burned up in protest to their right to do what they want without reference to God's authority or the nuisance they are causing in the neighborhood. So they stay in it and it's torched. So is the Fire Department or the City at fault for burnign the building down?

Maybe they are, maybe they aren't. It's a moral issue, right?

Another way to look at this is from the standpoint of function and purpose. If you need a color monitor with 15 channels in order to monitor your business activities and somebody delivers you a black-and white monitor with only 10 channels, then what good is it to you? Plus if you only have space for one monitor and the right monitor arrives which you had to pay extra for, then what? What do you do with that good for nothing monitor? Build a new building and a new station for it at even greater expense? Or cut your losses and throw it out the window hoping it will be dashed to pieces when it hits the ground 4 stories below?

"If the salt has lost its saltiness, then what good is it as salt?"

Humanity has a positive and specific puropse in God's overall plan. If they fall outside that plan...then what good are they? Plus "since a little leaven spoils the whole lump" and "since what is unclean makes what is clean unclean and not the other way around..." What choices does God have?

    frankiespeakin,

Do you still understand things like a jw ?

O daughter of Babylon (soul of possession), who are to be dispoiled (destined to be affected by this),
Happy will he be that rewards you (gives you the stuff that you want) With your own treatment with which you treated us.
Happy will be he that grabs ahold and does dash to pieces
Your children against the rock. (weighs up your works with those of the Way - your fruit - your children?)

What JCanon is trying to tell us, is that those who do not believe in Jesus as their personal savior are people who love the "world" and WANT to live selfishly. Non believers just LOVE sinful things.....isn't that right JCanon? They have no good in them.

The problem with believers like him, is that they fail to realise that because a person refuses to believe something they simply cannot believe......does not make them comparable to those in the bible who CHOSE to worship false gods inspite of EVIDENCE these gods were false. Posters on this board who are not believers are going to be slaughtered by their father who made them.

I'll tell you something JC...........if God would PERSONALLY speak to me as those in the condemmed building were spoken to you mentioned....then I'd listen. He hasn't yet. I've had many people tell me he speaks to me, but so far, I've not heard him myself.......only peoples opinions.

That why the fear of jehovah is so wrong,, this jeho-bubba-dubba-do is nothing but a hiddeous myth from the minds of controlling jewish men.
