Re your question about principle. The landlady of my local pub can sometimes be a total PITA. I mean, really bloody awful. Most times she's OK, but then she puts on her Hyacinth Bucket hat and it really makes me cringe. Just now and again, she becomes bigotted, racist and so opinionated that I have to walk away.
One day I'm gonna real tell her what's what!
But then..for my few seconds of glory I'd lose my favourite watering hole. HL would back me up, so she's lose out as well. My friends wouldn't benefit any longer from my scintillating company! ..I wouldn't benefit from their company either.
So the price is too high.
Even Englishmen have to bite their tongues sometimes.
