Even though I haven't yet seen it, I would not allow my kids to watch it. Too bloody gorey, I think.
My youngest wouldn't be able to read the subtitles anyway....

My 12 year old ended up seeing Freddy vs Jason. Didnt bother her. She is a good girl makes good grades and communicates well with me. So I will let her see it if she wants to. I will leave it up to her.
Depends on the maturity level of the child.
Young kids have no business seeing it, but mid teens maybe.
I think children that are used to books like "My Book of Bible Stories" and "Learning from the Great Teacher" will not see anything new, will they?
I agree each teen is different as far as maturity. I do keep in mind that children are exposed to rated x stuff at school everyday.
Yes I agree GermanJW
My friend went to see it the other night, and she was shocked to see a couple of kids (7 or 8 years old) sitting right behind her. She said it was much to violent for kids, even for some adults. She said she definitely wouldn't let a kid under 15 see it.

They said in our area (on the news) that they are strongly advising no one under age 13 see this movie, and even then, judge the maturity of that 13 year old.
After seeing a discussion of this movie on The View this morning, I am more sure than before that I will not see it. Three of the women thought the violence was "over the top" and "we know it happened so why did it have to go on and on and on. I felt numb afterwards".
I had lunch with a young friend (26) yesterday who had seen it the night before with her ex JW boyfriend. She said he covered his eyes for much of it, and had nothing to say afterwards. He wouldn't discuss it. She said she felt stunned after seeing it, and wished she hadn't gone after all.
Absolutely not.
Ditto for Schindler's List, The Killing Fields, Saving Private Ryan, etc. ---All good movies which remind us of things that should not be forgotten, but inappropriate for children.
Good points........ My 17 yr old , Kurt Cobin idolizer........why I don't know,,,,,,,guess they identify with his lyrics....lol, wants to see it. But I can understand why he does, being raised JW and he is a curious open minded person as I am. He would be interested in seeing the viewpoint of the director, etc. It is also interesting that at least two of his friends also want to see it,,,,,,,all over 17. And really listening to their conversations they have quiet often ,,,,,,,they talk alot about Jesus, what is really outthere, the after life etc.
LOL @German JW,,,,,,,,,so true, I had nightmare because of the orange Paradise Lost book.
Xena I have always appreciated your openmindedness. I probably won't let mine see it,,,,,but just not sure. I don't think they would really want to anyway.
LOL Shotgun,,,,,,,yeah my kids have just about seen all of the 10 plagues.......hail, snow, sleet, flood waters, gnats( no lie) , mud slides,,,,,hehe small ones anyway. Soon there will be heat so bad you will think the sun feel on Louisiana.
