Think about this:

A. The number of physicians in the US is 700,000.
B. Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year is 120,000.
C. Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171.
(US Dept. of Health & Human Services)

Then think about this:

A. The number of gun owners in the US is 80,000,000.
B. The number of accidental gun deaths per year is 1,500.
C. The number of accidental deaths per gun owner 0.0000188.
Statistically, doctors are approximately 9,000 times more dangerous than gun owners.

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat. We must ban doctors before this gets out of hand. As a public health measure, I have withheld the statistics on lawyers for fear that the shock could cause people to seek medical attention.

Tat, at least I would be interested in knowing the stats on lawyers. I've read Catherine Crier's book (Court TV) 'The case Against lawyers.'

I'm A liberal, but I'm VERY pro-Gun. Comes from a rural upbringing. Besides, there are 80,000,000 guns in america, and the only ones who have them are Criminals and Republicans

I don't know the statistics, but I'd bet that there are a lot more intentional gun deaths. I suppose there's more danger there. Also no gun has ever saved someone's life without threathening and possibly taking another life. I also lean liberal, but am not against guns. My dad owns a couple of hunting type guns. There simply needs to be harsher penalties against people who use guns or any deadly weapon improperly. Guns aren't the only thing that are deadly. I bet you could do the same kind statistical play with cars, which can easily be intentionally used as deadly weapons. It would be harder to manipulate your doctor that way.

Both my parents died due to mis-diagnosis by doctors.....I was mis-diagnosed for several years and suffered a heck of a lot of pain as a result.

I think I will take a gun with me the next time I visit a doctor!

You forgot to include INtentional deaths by gun and how many lives are SAVED by Doctors. 50 years ago, my daughter would not have lived beyond birth.
