So this is like how Rutherford got his JWS to go to door with phonograph records and a player.

Different technology but same principle .

No wonder I see JWS get so enthusiast about modern technology such as tablets and data information.

They are in thinking well Jah must be having a guiding hand in implementing his spiritual message to all mankind.

    Brainwashed idiots.

Can they download these videos or do they have to stream them and use mobile data at the door? If required to use mobile data, it could get expensive if you're a family head with a wife and several children. All of you need smart phones or tablets and a larger data plan.

Good luck streaming a video in many lands....

it would be like this: "welcome to JW.....buffering.....buffering......buffering......"

So the submitted report is ONLY for the local elders and the Circuit Overseer to "analyse"?

Hmmm.... If that doesn't scream HIGH CONTROL GROUP, then nothing does!

For years we were told that the purpose of reporting was so that the society would know how much needed to be produced and printed etc!

Now we see the real reason reporting was instituted: to measure ones 'spirituality' and to exercise control!

Formerbrother - "We are being pushed to show videos instead."

Downloads count as placements, too, apparently.

So, they knock on your door to show you videos you could access directly from jw.org?

Eliminate the middle man, I say.

Surely this illustrates how redundant door-to-door work has become, especially in countries with widespread internet coverage.

steve2 - "...this illustrates how redundant door-to-door work has become..."

    Superfluous, too.

All this must feel very unsettling for the elderly JW.

Some must feel quite redundant...unable to afford the tablets, unable to afford a data plan for service - some would feel absolutely overwhelmed by the whole thing.

Unable to afford a tablet, unable to afford a data plan, unable to fit in with the whirring wheels of the big Chariot- do the poor elderly just accompany the tablet owners, standing there helplessly for moral support? They must feel like two cents!
