We had a self-appointed lady at our church who would meticulously control the distribution of food and refreshments after the service. She is known to have slapped many a wrist. She was not too affectionately referred to as our food nazi.

Owen Jones is pathetic - did you see him on the latest This Week?

Andrew Neil began by praising him for how he reacted with dignity to the pro-Brexit mob but Owen still got into an argument with Neil at the end of his bit - Jones was determined to hurl allegations at The Spectator!

He has no self awareness whatsoever. He contemned this mob for calling Soubry a Nazi by calling them fascist. XD

Yesterdays Times says Soubry asked the police officer standing nearby for help from the name-calling and he said it's democracy.

l had occasion to talk to my local county councilor yesterday ( much lower down the food chain than an MP ) and he said that he had been called worse by his constituents and felt that MPs needed to grow a thicker skin . He pointed out that police already have enough to do solving actual crime where people have had property taken or had suffered injury , and l totally agree with this .

Incitement to criminal action or hate crime ( ie causing physical harm to someone ) obviously should be investigated and then prosecuted , but anyone who goes into politics should be savvy enough to know that name calling goes with the territory . As demonstrated by Vanderhoven most of us have used the terms " Little Hitler , Fascist or Nazi " particularly about Traffic Wardens

Labels of are of no use to me. Liberal. Conservative. Right. Left. Far Right. Far Left. Center right. Centrist. Socialist. Fascist. Nazi.

Ideas. Concepts. Conversations that lead gaining of knowledge. Finding truth, facts that comport to reality. These are the things that interest me.

Freedom of speech, the interchange of thought, must be upheld.

    Same here!

The only label I identify with is "Left Right Out".

I don't like labels attached to me, like Atheist for example, I am an Atheist according to my definition of the word, but people will assume all sorts about my opinions if I simply tell them I am one, wrong assumptions usually.

I think the hurling of abuse using such labels as " Fascist" and "Nazi" has lost its effect, as has the ubiquitous use of the word F**K.

Using such word labels takes away all credibility from these people as said above by others, but, Protesters do need something to shout ! They need an appropriate neologism for every protest !
