China has just switched on its 500 metre diameter radio telescope, nearly twice as large as the previous largest. Among other things it is tasked to do, it will eventually be programmed to look for and analyse radio waves that may have a non-natural origin.

So will the scientists manning this facility eventually hear YHWH and JESUS having a chat?

It's unlikely that aliens, if they're out there will have any reason to beam a signal to every planet in existence. It would not be our earth alone because they would have no idea who or what is here because of the enormous distances and how long it would take to observe any planet tens, hundreds and thousands of light years away.

Any message sent by them or us would have to be a tightly aimed beam of energy because any signal that comes out of this or any planet will be soon degraded to the point where it wouldn't be distinguishable from cosmic background noise.

Great science project, money well spend; huge as it is, sharper images are picked up in chile with portable units spread over a large area, and even on different continents. but listening is better than sending, we might regret being discovered by Yaweh - like entities that are already on record to have wiped out whole civilisations. ya-weh ? oh weh! gewalt!

Man is the dominant animal on earth and feeds off all the so called inferior animals , and vegetation , lets hope that their is not a civilization out their that sees humans as food for them.

This is actually not that stupid a question, if you leave out the deities. All events, entities and of course "speech"are perceived by us in the form various frequencies in either different lights, or sound , be it particles or waves.so:

this better ear will help us to listen more closely what "celestial acoustics" that happened in the past ( we never see, hear anything coming from the future)

Ten bucks says if it did, they'd try to spin it as Jesus and Yahweh being "pro-communist". :smirk:

I'm not sure about that Vidiot, since the only thing 'communist' about the 'Chinese Communist Party' is the use of the word in the name.

During the first 25 years of the PRC there were two main groupings in the CCP, one thought the best model for modernising China, was the Planned, Centralised economy advocated by Mao. The other group, vilified by Mao, as the 'capitalist roaders,' thought a mixture of state enterprises (the model Japan used to grow industrial might back in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century) and private initiative would get better results. A crisis came during a period when the USA applied sanctions to China and Russia withdrew its aid, Mao tried a sort of 'village initiatives policy' in his 'Great Leap Forward' policy. It had some successes and many failures and as a result the CCP removed Mao from direct control of the economy. That's when, as a response to that, Mao set the 'Cultural Revolution' in process, again with some good results and some terrible results. After Mao's death, Deng Xiaoping, a pragmatic man, allowed private initiative to become the foundation for China's current success.

Maybe, if the radio telescope picks up some YHWH/Jesus gossip, they'll claim they were saying,"Wow!!! Look at China go."
