The earliest account of the disease appears in an Egyptian Papyrus around 1550 B.C.

Hansen's or Leprosy infected around 100-200 people in the U.S each year and most are

in the south, Texas and Louisiana no idea why.

In the Bible leprosy is mentioned upwards of 40 times. The main reason why leprosy is talked

about so much is the Bible is that it is a graphic illustration of sin's destructive power. In ancient Israel

leprosy was a powerful object lesson of the debilitating influence of sin in a person's life.

My question what did these unfortunate folks do???

Leviticus 13: God had given his people very specific instruction on how to deal with leprosy.

Lev.13:2-3 Go to a priest and if found infected "wear torn clothes and let the hair of his head hang loose,

and he shall cover his upper lip and cry out, 'Unclean, unclean. He shall live alone and his dwelling shall

    be outside the camp.

Lev. 13:45-46 the leper then was considered utterly unclean-physically and spiritually.

    How are they spiritually unclean?

The all knowing God of the OT was cruel...

It always puzzled me why , when the Israelites were living under a Theocracy , when God was blessing the nation they still had such diseases as Leprosy

smiddy: It doesn't make sense "God blessing the nation they still had such diseases".

Come on, God should have known what cause Leprosy. And still in Jesus day it was still

    viewed as unclean spiritually.

By means of science, humans found a cure for leprosy, while God did NOTHING!

Not only would Jehovah have known about what causes Leprosy , he should have made sure that his "blessed people" under his Theocracy , would not have contracted the disease if he was in fact the " Almighty God" .

And as you say in Jesus day it was still rampant , why didn`t Jesus cure all of those afflicted with this horrible disease instead of just one person .

Then again Jesus has been Reigning as King over Jehovah`s Witnesses since 1914 , and during that first 100 years , Elders , MS , R&F members , have all been found guilty of sexual abuse against children in many countries , it doesn`t say much for his rulership does it.

Just imagine what it will be like in paradise with no secular authorities to deal with them.

    Landy: That's cold......LOL

smiddy: I wonder why Jesus didn't do a mass healing also. All who is sick stand and

wave you hands, you are heal now have a shot of wine.
