Had a great turn out today protesting against the Baptist Minister who praised the Orlando massacre. My best guess is there were around 1,200 of us there. It was an entirely peaceful protest as we chanted "Love conquers hate" and "We are Orlando". We also took a moment to read aloud the names of all forty nine victims. To hear their names carried in unison by a thousand voices was a really powerful and somber moment.
I also want to give a shout out to the neighboring North City Church who not only came out and protested with us but also opened up their church doors to anyone who wanted water or needed to use the restroom. I'll post a picture of me holding my sign and also a shot in which I tried to get the scale of how many of us there were but we circled 2/3rds of the building so it's hard to show.
