BTW tonite my mother invited me to the Sydney International Convention ! I told her that my presence would probably cause a mini-riot!

Ozzie we have said almost the same thing, when the CO invited us to his talk last Spring, and again when my stepfather died. Mom really wanted us to come and sit with her at the KH for his memorial talk. Dave explained to Mom that our being there would completely take away from the reason everyone was there, so it was best if we stayed away. She agreed actually.

    A mini-riot is a good expression. I'll remember that.

    Nice one, Scully

As someone said, did you publicly celebrate late Christmas? That would give them grounds to say you were d/a , if they had a mind to. In fact it is really down to to the elders to interpret things however they want to. Surely they should tell you? After all, according to their belief, they are condemming you to be birdfood at the big A. How can you repent if you do not know about it. Compare the stuff that says how loving this provision of discipline is meant to be!

Scully, I would be visiting the elders for a little discussion! They need a little straightening out! I could not have held back in this situation and would have brought up all the recent happenings!

    Hi Steve:

Although in your case Scully, I'm surprised. I thought you had been brilliant all your life.

Well, I guess the cat is out of the bag, eh?? Maybe I have been, but I spent 25 years of my life hiding my lamp under a bushel basket, with my brain on loan to a stooopid cult.

    Blues brothers:

Actually, I think I've gotten away with the Christmas thing for a long time. Ever since the Dec 15, 2001 Watchtower had that Questions from Readers article regarding Worldly Holidays? and that a True Christian? wife shows respect and subjection for her Unbelieving Husband? when she helps make the holidays nice for him, provided that she doesn't engage in Acts of False Worship?, and that it's basically up to her Bible Trained Conscience? what she can and can't do, I have been totally capitalizing on it. Hubby is the one who was SEEN by two elders putting lights up on the house. Yes, we have a tree, but I asked my folks to do some research and show me secular evidence (not from the WTS publications) that prove that having a tree with decorations on it is an Act of False Worship?. The issue gets dropped like a steaming warm bag of poo. Now that the recent Awake! article about piƱatas has bolstered this position regarding customs with pagan origins as not being something to judge others over or make a big deal out of by True Christians? due to the customs not having religious relevance today, you can bet your sweet bippy that I'm going to use this New Light? to my advantage as well.

    Love, Scully
