What are some of the more exceptional self-authenticating claims made by Jehovah’s Witnesses?

w07 1/1 p. 28 par. 11 - “The First Resurrection”—Now Under Way! - That would indicate that the first resurrection began sometime between 1914 and 1935."

LOL! What fools the GB and all JWs that believe them.

Claiming the 'first resurrection' has occurred already at some point in that 21-year span, is claiming that the 'last day' has begun, which is the same as saying the 1,000 years have begun.

[ 24 Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”]

[ 39 This is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose none out of all those whom he has given me, but that I should resurrect them on the last day. 40 For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who recognizes the Son and exercises faith in him should have everlasting life, and I will resurrect him on the last day.”]

[w98 7/1 - She might even have learned this from Jesus himself. (John 6:39) That “last day” coincides with the Thousand Year Reign of Christ. (Revelation 20:6) Imagine the excitement during that “day” when this grand event begins!]
[w90 5/1 - She knew that the resurrection would be, not on his (Lazarus’) last day, but in the future, “on the last day”—Judgment Day, when the dead would be raised under God’s Kingdom rule.]
[Learn From the Great Teacher - Well, Martha had heard about Jesus’ promise: ‘All those in the memorial tombs will come out.’ (John 5:28, 29) So “the last day” is when all those in God’s memory will be brought back to life. This last day is not a 24-hour day. It will be a thousand years long. On this day, the Bible says, ‘God will judge the people of the earth.’ The ones he judges will include those who have been resurrected.—Acts 17:31; 2 Peter 3:8. Think about what a wonderful day this will be! During this thousand-year-long day, many millions of people who have died will be brought back to life.]

So much for them claiming the 'first resurrection' began at some point between 1914-1935, because there they show that they are waiting for 'that day' to begin in the future.

The most blatant self-authenticating claim, and the one that is so starkly utter nonsense, with zero support from Scripture and even common sense, is that they were appointed in 1919 as "the faithful and discreet Slave".

And hence that claim to Authority and some sort of "Hot Line to Heaven" can be claimed by today's Governing Body.

The 1919 claim relies on the long debunked 1914 nonsense, and upon claiming that Jesus chose them on the basis of what they were teaching circa 1919. As Raymond Franz said in one of his Books, that claim is " an Insult to Jesus".

A common sense reading of the Parable that the FDS comes from makes it plain it is ONLY a Parable, a Teaching Aid, a Story, and not a prophecy of any kind.

Hence the Governing Body today are :

    Self-appointed Charlatans.

    Mark writes

The only test is approval from the Governing Body, who claim to be the only men on the planet who are qualified to understand the Bible.

Rank and file Jehovah's Witnesses just parrot everything they say without question. If the Governing Body decides it's from God, it must be, because they said so.

Any disagreement with these men is equated to direct rebellion against God.

Is the Faithful Slave organization the only channel of salvation?

    Mark writes:

That's certainly the claim made by numerous Watchtower articles.

However in 2015, Geoffrey Jackson said under oath, “That, I think, would seem to be quite presumptuous, to say that we are the only spokesperson that God is using.”

But there doesn't appear to be any official clarification who, or what, “other spokespersons” Jehovah might be using.

Judge for yourself if he was telling the truth.

“All who want to understand the Bible should appreciate that the “greatly diversified wisdom of God” can become known only through Jehovah’s channel of communication, the faithful and discreet slave,” (Watchtower, Oct. 1, 1994, p. 8).

“They must appreciate that identifying themselves with Jehovah's organization is essential to their salvation." Kingdom Ministry 1990 Nov p.1 I

Only Jehovah's Witnesses, those of the anointed remnant and the "great crowd," as a united organization under the protection of the Supreme Organizer, have any Scriptural hope of surviving the impending end of this doomed system dominated by Satan the Devil." Watchtower 1989 Sep 1 p.19

"Just as Noah and his God-fearing family were preserved in the ark, survival of individuals today depends on their faith and their loyal association with the earthly part of Jehovah's universal organization." Watchtower 2006 May 15 p.22 "Are You Prepared for Survival?"

"Similarly, Jehovah is using only one organization today to accomplish his will. To receive everlasting life in the earthly Paradise we must identify that organization and serve God as part of it." Watchtower 1983 Feb 15 p.12

"... to leave Jehovah's organization ... we would lose not only the privilege of doing God's will but also the hope of life in God's new world." Watchtower 2016 Jun study ed p.26

"But if we were to draw away from Jehovah's organization, there would be no place else to go for salvation and true joy." Watchtower 1993 Sep 15 p.22

"At this stage of the affairs of man, it is absolutely impossible for anyone, professed Christian or otherwise, to stand independently of the one organization that is bearing witness worldwide to Jehovah, his goodness and supremacy in accord with the 145th Psalm and, in fact, in accord with all the Scriptures." Yearbook 1982 p.259

It's been pointed out before, but Geoffrey Jackson's comment can be taken more than one way. He did not say it would "be" quite presumptuous to think they were the only spokesman God is using, but that it would "seem to be", in other words 'To an outside observer it might be viewed as presumptuous, but to us it is not..'...also whatever happened to " the annointed remnant"...the term seems to have gone totally out of use..?

Magnum: "Many JWs would use terminology others aren't familiar with. I remember this big JW dude, about 60yrs old, who was just not what I'd call a normal person. Somebody asked him a question when he was in the door to door ministry. I don't remember the question, but I remember how his answer began. He said in his very deep voice and his very slow manner of speaking, "Well, now, the faithful and discreet slave says..." I cringed. The person he was answering didn't know who or what JWs say the "faithful and discreet" is. It sounded so culty. There is so much wrong with that response. It indicated to me a lack of common sense on the part of the JW and certainly a lack of teaching ability."

Perhaps in his mind, using jargon like that would provoke a response where the householder might ask what the FDS was? Or was it so ingrained in his mind and his day to day interactions with other JWs that he never thought of using any other term?
