I think the card games are lots of fun. I am not a big fan of the slots; I find them too boring. But playing black jack, or craps is a blast.
I view it as entertainment. If I can afford to spend a couple hundred bucks on dinner and a show in Vegas, I have just as much fun sitting behind a card table. Either way it is entertainment, and I would only do it if I could afford it.
I have had much fun in Vegas, gamble some, win, and pay for the entire trip. I used to go about once a month, but have been far too busy lately to go. Play some games, see some shows, watch people, is very fun in my opinion.
On the the flip side, there are many who cannot afford to play, and others who cannot control themselves. In those cases, the person should admit their challenge, and refrain from playing.
Any person who gambles away money that needs to be spent on his family instead, I have no respect for.
