If someone spoke about how Witnesses don't accept medical treatment or do not believe in doctors, would you correct those comments? If someone posted that JW's are just av bunch of child molesters, would you feel impelled to clarify the statement?

There's enough TRUTHFUL statements about JW's that condemn them.

We don't need to add (or agree with) untruthful statements that also make them look bad. If we do, then eventually we'll look bad lying about the JW's -- and prove the WT society true when they label ex-JW's a bunch of liars and whatever else they say.

No, the JW's provide enough rope to "hang them", so to speak. We don't need to be rope manufacturers.

I would correct misinformation. There's no need to promote lies about them. The truth about them is bad enough, and I'm not going to destroy my own credibility by promoting misinformation about them.

I can say I do some times but not always there are times I just don't know what the current "new light "is so can't agree or disagree.

I have no problem correcting misinformation if I am aware of it. That goes with anything not just jws. If someone told me muslims were all canabals I would speak up and say bull%$#%. Like iiz said, there's no reason to "promote" lies it only falls back on ones own character.

    I'm not afraid

I think by correcting the misinformation people will hopefully realize we aren't just out on some vendetta but do our best to be balanced. Let the WTS smear our reputations. It will only look bad on them.

I do think that generalizations are usually ok. If someone asks,"Why don't JW's go to college?", I wouldn't feel the need to say, "JW's can now go to college" (Although, that seems to change every few years). "Why are elders such sticklers?"....Obviously, not ALL elders are strict but we all get the idea.

I have corrected misinformation about the Witnesses for years. I also inform the real truth, not the whitewashed version that appears in the Watchtower. (Jehovah's happy people...yuck!)
