Well, I could stand being happy all the time and never sad ... I just don't buy that old argument that you have to eat bovine excrement to appreciate a good steak. But, I do agree that the world will always be imperfect, because we will always have perfection seekers like Jehovah's Witnesses and many other whacky groups fighting their various brands of holy wars in the name of their little gods. - Jim W.

I don't buy it that without the bitter the sweet just ain't as sweet is a rule of the universe. It is a good way of describing our lives, though.

it may be cute in a movie, but it doesn't hold up. There won't ever be a perfect world the way we thought of "perfect" as witnesses, or even the way most people think of "perfect", but quality of life can be improved, and in fact is being improved.
