    Hey, RayfordSteele,

That's southern, for Hi! Glad to see your post.
As long as we're alive, there is never an end to the story.

And I have a sneeking suspicion that the Society's end will come long after old age and sorryness are upon most of us here.

As others have noted on other forums, The WTBTS is a remarkably resilient publishing religious company.

Nice to speak with you, come back and visit. Do I have to type your whole name next time - or do you have a shortened form? Like Ray?

    Gotta make a shameless plug.
    Anyone ever visit www.collegeclub.com?

I don't use it for anything else except a discussion group that I'm the admin for.

Join if you want. Name's Faith and Reason. Look for it under the 'clubs, religions, Christianity' subdirectory.

    Well, Ray,

I don't think your plug was shameless. They do it all the time over at H20. Several good leads there.

    Thanks for your input.

Truth is something that can be proven conforming to freedom from falsehood.

There are middle grounds in between both extremes. Pure truth and pure falsehood. One thing is certain: When there are two conflicting or opposite statements, either one of them is true and the other one false or both are false. Both conflicting statements cannot be true.

If a person consideres her/himself to be part of the truth, s/he must always modify his or her beliefs to follow that whis has been proven to be true. It is a mark of a a closed mind or a cult not to be able to keep yourself informed of other ideas. This included completely opposite former beliefs.

I wonder how many people calling themselves in the truth would have the courage to read Joseph Wheless' books "Is It God's Word?" and "Forgery In Christianity". Joseph Wheless was never a JW, so the WT cannot say you are reading apostate books. His books were published in 1926 and 1930. He was a judge and an ambassador to Mexico, so he looks at the bible from a lawyer's point of view. You can buy them through Amazon. com.You can also see them in full online at http://www.infidels.org/library/historical/joseph_wheless/index.shtml.

Another favorite site of mine is http://www.skepticsannotatedbible.com/. I like it because you can go to the left and read verse by verse about the contradictions, injustices, absurdities, cruelties, intolerances, insults to women, family values, false prophecies, sex, science and prophecies, foul language, homosexuality, and lately they added a section about Jehovah Witnesses. They have a section about good stuff, in case you still take the bible as the literal word of god. I dare you to compare this bible to the NWT. You can take the right side and examine them individually.

Want to compare Christianity with other earlier religions? go to http://home.earthlink.net/~pgwhacker/ChristianOrigins/

    For short themes see http://home.inu.net/skeptic/

Want to have fun and test your biblical knowledge? click http://www.landoverbaptist.org/quizlist.html

Now, if after reading these sites you still think are in the truth I will return to the WT.

The Truth is that if you lived a thousand years or forever you'd see truth redefined constantly.
Because truth is REVEALED to humans a bit at a time.
    Like it or not.

Every thing that stems from LOVE...

anewme, and acadian, if I may offer this perspective:

There is no truth, and love is the psychological defense we develop around ourselves to ameliorate the pain of that reluctant, and most often deeply denied, realization. Not a bad thing, but...

sometimes life is just too simple to grasp--we think ourselves to death, and wonder, at the end, what the hell just happened.
