Publishers chatting away during the field service　were quite common around my neighborhood few years ago.

but they are rarely seen in these days.

I've been out in field service in Japan before. Went from door to door where most people were out or did not answer the door & also held placards at a train station. It was a complete waste of time...

Perhaps they are down at the train station with their trolley carts?

Giodarno, yes the decrease in publishers is shown in the Yearbook and has been happening over several successive years. I dont have the numbers on hand but will try to get hold of them when I have access to my home computer (I'm on a tablet at the moment). The general Japanese population is also decreasing.
