Have you ever been watching a show and suddenly, there's a reference to Jehovah's Witnesses? I was watching an English mystery show from a while back and the main character Hetty, was giving a list of religions that could have drawn off a young girl. One of the "fringe" groups was tada - Jehovah's Witnesses.

There is plenty of other more well known clips like SNL coneheads being approached by fake JW's. Have any more odd spots?

Sinbad movie Houseguest, a guy at a pay phone says a white lie that one of Jehovah's Witnesses is bothering him.

Big Eyes, which portrays JWs very well (unfortunately).

A Perfect World, which portrays them very inaccurately.

Just saw one tonight during the American show "The Neighborhood." The character Dave thought it was great that jw's stopped by to talk, but after a while they would say, "Dave, we really have to go."

When that happened and my mother was in the room but not really paying attention and she heard the JWs mentioned she'd go crazy saying "what, what did they say" !! and I'd say that just proves you're in a cult, do Catholics and Baptists go crazy every time they hear their religion mentioned on TV?

I remember an X-Files episode that had ‘Jehovah’s Witnesses’ worked into the story. It was the episode about some guy that got a tattoo of a woman and it spoke to him and urged him to do bad things.

Solzhenitsyn - that's the one! I also think there was a Land Shark skit that had it too.

LongHairGal - I didn't watch too many of the Xfiles so I missed it.

The Rainmaker - When Matt Damon first goes to visit his client she says she thought he was a JW at the door.

JW's are often the subject of talk-show humor. --And not just in the English speaking world either.
