Actually, most people don't go to church to get to heaven. They go to worship. Most churches do not teach that church attendence will get them to heaven. They teach that a personal relationship with God through Christ is what saves you. I once heard a pastor say "if I ever tell you that I am necessary for your salvation, I want you to get up and run, don't walk to the nearest exit".
