I was raised Catholic and it seems to me that the Witness version of “paradise” is simply belief in a hereafter just like Christendom’s belief in a hereafter. The difference is JWs think theirs will be on the earth.
The sad problem is that Witnesses do not enjoy life now but people in Christendom certainly do. The Catholics I knew certainly didn’t deprive themselves of celebration, education, nice things, creature comforts, etc. They got all they could out of life.
Witnesses (maybe not all) don’t enjoy their present life and let it run through their hands like a fistful of sand while waiting for never-neverland to arrive. Very unhealthy!
Since I’ve been out I make sure I enjoy every day and live in the present.
