    Was It Designed?

The Great White has sharp, triangular teeth and strong jaws, perfect for biting huge chunks out of seals and other large sea creatures.

The Great White, an efficient swimmer, swims up behind the seal and takes a huge bite out of the seal's hind flippers (the pair that it uses to swim with). The immobilised seal loses much blood and goes into shock.

Feeding in this manner can mean that some of the shark's teeth fall out. This is no problem because it has rows of teeth growing behind the current row in use, like a conveyor belt.

The shark waits for the seal to die from blood loss, then comes back to feed at its leisure.

How could all this happen from blind chance?

What an amazing creature the Great White is!

What do you think? Did the Great White's feeding ability evolve? Or was it designed? ;)

What father makes his offspring/creation feed on each other just to live?

Following on from LUHE, how about the tiger sand shark, a relative of the great white? The female gives birth to live embryos swimming in her womb and while still in-utero the biggest and fiercest devours all of his or her siblings. Only the most ruthless survives to later go on and procreate. What a "loving arrangement"! .........(I heard this expression from the platform so many times that I became thoroughly sick of it)

Was it designed -- or is it an overt example of the survival of the fittest?

If nature were our guide, then indifference to the suffering of others would be the rule.

Of course some people put Allah or Jehovah as their perfect model to imitate, both of them are gods of retribution, both are interpreted as demanding absolute loyalty whatever the cost.

Most humans though have actually risen above the bestial level and reckon that human wisdom includes compassion and compliance with social custom and order. All political systems make penalties for those who would harm others.

Nature shows us how not to act.

Hb: yes, we are not degenerate As&Es, but evolved from common lower forms. and the cooperation stemming from animal parental nurturing in nature proved so successful in our evolution that we are about to overwhelm the planet.

Animals eat meat as they are all part of a natural circular ecosystem. If they were all vegetarian, what would happen to dead corpses?

Humans probably started eating meat in extreme conditions, as the human being doesn't need to do the job of any animal and eating meat is quite disgusting if you think about it.

Unless you believe that humans are just evolved piranhas, termites, sharks or vultures.

There's a theory that humans are not the last link in the food chain and humans have an invisible predator.
