So it is the New Jersey Nets vs. San Antonio Spurs in the NBA finals who do you think is going to win? Better question who would you put your money on?

I might make a quick drive up to Lake Tahoe (Harvey's) and drop a buck($100) on the series.

Here is the latest line from the Don Best's Nevada rotation.

This is the series price. The Nets look like a strong dog with Kenyon Martin and Jason Kid (remember Magic and Worthy)? 100 to win 305 + your 100 back for 405 is not a bad option.

    Game one looks like this

What do you say? should I play game one take NJ Plus the points? San Antonio on the money line and parley that with the under?

Or Just play the half time line take the +3.5 for NJ and may be buy the half point to +4 at -120? Or just have confidence on San Antonio and ride the -6

    for the game.

Maybe I should drop a buck($100) on the Series and let it ride NJ at +280 (Line at Harvey's Lake Tahoe and Silver Legecy in Reno)

    100 + 280 to return 380

    -350 SA +280 NJ

    Hmmmmmmmm?

The Nets are up against a whole different ballgame, now that they're not playing the Eastern Conference anymore. I wouldn't bet against the Spurs. Their frontcourt is awesome. K-Mart won't have as much room to operate and dominate like he can against lesser opposition.

My gut feeling is to stick with the boring Spurs. They bore you TO DEATH! (I only have one caveat, in that they have a tendency to let down after gaining big leads...Hopefully they won't let that trait cost them too much in this upcoming series.)

    Good luck, CCR!

    Gopher,

Given your analysis, which is a good one maybe I should bet game by game. The series odds at -350 Sa is not worth the wager.

What do you think of the ov/un given it will be arounf 186-188.5 or so?

I have met the head coach of the New Jersey Nets several times. He's a great and wonderful guy. For this it's the Nets for me.

Geez that's a tough call. New Jersey has shooters that can go hot or cold. But then again if San Antonio gets a decent lead, then they can mysteriously go cold on offense for a while. I'd take the "under" on the first game, seeing that they're feeling each other out. Then for later games see if anyone (Kerry Kittles? Rich Jefferson? Ginobli? Parker?) starts getting hot and if so, then bet the over. (This is not my money though, so disregard any betting advice I just gave. I'm a rank amateur. Anyone's guess is as good as mine.)
