Memorial Night

The memorial this year was the first one I've been to since being DF'd. When they were passing the emblems they missed out the row where me and another DF'd brother were sitting. The other person said it had been happening for the last 5 years he'd be going back to meetings. I wasn't happy with this so I had a word with one of the elders at the next meeting. He said that it was beacause of a question from readers in the 50s where it said that Judas was not at the last supper when jesus passed the emblems, so modern day judas's(DA'd & DF'd) should not be offered them either. I asked how this correlated with a question from readers in 1976 about what would be done if a DF'd person partook of the emblems(A situation which would not occur if they were not passed to them), and also a watchtower study article from 1990 that stated that the emblems should be passed to all in attendance. The elder got quite agitated at this and mumbled something about reviewing the situation for next year.

Has anyone else here been in that situation, or know of something similar done by the elders

It's amazing how they will go back to 1950's info, when it is convienent, but never any other time.

Why not go back to 1914 and discuss the publication from then, to get new light on the 1914 generation.

I love the fact you pissed him off, left him speechless didn't you ???

Just another reason in the long list to stay away. What a JOKE !!!!!!!!!

We were always taught from a young age, NEVER to JUDGE people, doesn't apply much to elders does it ???

According to the Gospel of Luke Judas WAS present at the Institution of the Last Supper.

    Three conflicting references??? Good!!!

Why not write it up and send to Brooklyn?? The Elders are screwing up.

If somebody says it is none of your/our/anybody's business, HUHHHH!!! I beg your pardon!!!

There is a scripture somewhere (using NWT-speak) that says that " are a public spectacle to all the nations". That is how I recollect the scripture, but I don't have a NWT online reference of any sort.

Well, the WTS is A PUBLIC SPECTACLE: every action, every mistake, every time an Elder picks his nose and every "jot & tittle" that the WTS ever wrote!!!!

That is the way the WTS proclaimed it, wrote it up and what they asked for!!! As a result,

BTW, question: is there a commonly available "resource" such as the NWT on line or a Concordance of it, anywhere, web-available???

PS: OK, I'm sure you don't want to make waves; just venting

Further, all that I write or utter, is considered to be protected by religious freedom under the 1st Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, as the "free exercise" and "freedom of speech" clauses.

That seems to be another of those contradictions in the bible .Some accounts don't mention Judas leaving while others say that immediately after eating from the common bowl ,satan entered him and he left with the apostles thinking he was to give money to the poor or buy things for the poor ,which is found in John 13:21-30.

modern day judases? Shows you how they view us, not as prodigal sons, but as traitors to the regime!

The reference you mean is 1 corinthians 4:9,

"For it seems to me that God has put us the apostles last on exhibition as men appointed to death, because we have become a theatrical spectacle* to the world, and to angels, and to men."

    * "Theatrical spectacle" Lit., "a theatre." Gr., the'a-tron; Lat., spec-ta'cu-lum.

I've got a watchtower2001 I could copy, but would need some advice on the legality of the copywrite, would it endanger the site if something like that was organised here?

When they were passing the emblems they missed out the row where me and another DF'd brother were sitting.

So they skipped a whole row of people so as to not offer the bread and wine to a "judas"?? What about the "non-judas" people on the row? Were they not worthy of being offered the bread and wine? It never ceases to amaze me...the stupidity of the things I keep hearing.

The whole thing is a sham as far as I'm concerned .I showed up and walked out when they started passing the emblems around . I can't see being invited to a church supper and sitting there refusing to eat and passing food around like an idiot. If there are partakers I don't know why they don't just sit them at the table or let them eat in peace somewhere at their residence .
