Here was an e-mail sent to me from a fundie....
We continue to hear stories about alternate lifestyles.
It's quite obvious that our liberal media have quite a
different view of this than those of us who embrace a
Biblical value system.
And so, of real interest here should be a study in
The Family Report. This is published monthly by the
Family Research Institute, and it compares the life span
of people who have lived varying lifestyles. Dr. Paul
Cameron compared almost 5,000 obituaries from ten
U.S. homosexual daily newspapers with a like number
of obituaries from two major U.S. daily newspapers.
Let's look at them.
For married men, the median age of death was 75
years. For unmarried or divorced men, the median age
of death was 57. For homosexuals who died for reasons
other than AIDS, the median age of death was 42. For
homosexuals who died from AIDS, the median age of
death was 39.
Let's look at another dimension. Of married men,
80% died at age 65 or older. For unmarried or
divorced men, 32% died at an age greater than 65.
For homosexual men who died of reasons other than
AIDS, 7% lived beyond 65; and of those who died of
AIDS, only 1% lived beyond age 65.
Well, how about women? Lets look at married
women. The median age of death was 79. For
unmarried women, it was 71. For the 93 lesbians in
these obituaries, the median age of death was 45.
But if homosexuals and lesbians died younger,
and we eliminated AIDS, what were the causes of
their deaths? Here is what Dr. Cameron found.
Homosexual men died 10 times more often in
accidents than heterosexual men; they committed
suicide 26 times more often and were murdered 87
times more often. They had fatal heart attacks 23
times more often - and this was a comparison with
heterosexual white men aged 25-44.
What of the female side? The numbers here were
smaller and therefore maybe less reliable, but,
according to them lesbians died - get this now -
450 times more often by being murdered than
heterosexual women. Lesbians committed suicide
over 900 times more often. They died 300 times
more often from accidents. Again, these comparisons
are with white heterosexual women age 25 to 44.
Dr. Camerson asks if Moses was mistaken when
in Deuteronomy he called the fruit of Sodom
"deadly poison" or Proverbs, which says that
"the years of the wicked are shortened." Or was
Paul wrong in Romans when he said that homosexuals
" are paid in their own person the fitting wage of such
perversions."
In any case, the startly shortened life spans of
homosexual men and women is something we all
should know about and tell others about.
