I found this while googling. I thought Elders and/or high rankers don't get paid. Is there something I don't know? See screenshot.

It’s all about how many years full time service.

when I was at Bethel I got the standard that everyone gets plus the bonus based on how many years FT service

if you are a couple both pioneers for years you get a fair bit

plus no outgoings at all everything is paid. Your car expenses all paid plus mileage which is all trust, some people put down hundreds of miles more than they did and make profit

plus you get given lots of white envelopes by wealthy JWs. Often the congregation pays for little trips flights and accommodation if giving a talk somewhere

clothes all donated, toiletries all free , food and everything free. No bills no repairs for anything need paying for, just put in a reccy we used to call it. (Request form)

when you think about what does a Bethelite ever need money for? They can go months without ever needing money, it’s just for extra treats but you get plenty of thise

I cannot believe this site . If it were true it would be a major scandal.

No congregation elder gets paid. It is a labour of love . As for Bethel elders and high ups , the principle has always been that they all get a basic income. That used to be $14 a month but must have increased now.

Of course if you costed up all the benefits in kind they receive in terms of board and lodging, it would equal a salary…….

Those sites allow people to add data anonymously. As far as I know, they do not confirm anything that is entered. If you could earn $50k-to-$95k a year serving as an elder, congregations would be overflowing with elders.

The WTS would sooner request that elders pay $50k a year for the privilege.

Surely that is just their earnings from their secular job?

In the 70s I took a massive pay cut to go to Bethel. Glad I had savings.

My Bethel pay per month was what I got PER HOUR on the outside.

My travel allowance was exact subway costs for 3 RT fares per week.

Way below minimum wage and a shared bedroom.

It appeared the medical doctors and a few specialists had greater incomes though, because they supported families.

If correct, these are surely earnings Watchtower professionals earn. Lawyers, doctors, IT specialists, accountants etc etc. As someone mentioned many of them have famillies and couldn't possibly support them on the Bethelites stipend.

I believe these are the people at the top who really keep watchtower in business - ones for whom Watchtower's continued success as a business is really in their interest.

The figures sound right for them, no?

Another example are the JWs who run businesses/are contractors, with the organisation as their main customer. They won't be listed but will lobby on behalf of the org when required. They're not interested if "The STruth"©NF 2024 is the truth or not.
