The "Devil" does not appear in the Eden Story, this Story was plagiarised from a Canaanite/Sumerian one, the Devil is not in their religious thinking.

"the satan" only came in to Israelite religious thought while the Exiles were in Babylon, and came from Zoroastrian ideas prevalent in Babylon, along with other new Spirits, such as Angels and Demons, and other new religious ideas.

Hence Judaism was born, a very different religion form that of the pre-Exile Israelites.

On the Thread subject, the J.W org have an almighty cheek in putting on the cover a Pic. of the "Prodigal Son", how does ANY of the J.W Practice of Shunning and DFing fit the lessons of that Parable ?

Massive Liars and Hypocrites all, the J.W Org.

I hope people have got copies of it, and the foreign language editions, so we can compare them with whatever is finally released?

It's evidently a case of Watchtower not liking that the brothers are grabbing the food while it's in the kitchen. So they closed the kitchen door until the spiritual food is ready to be served. 17 languages were released when I last checked before Watchtower pulled the plug on us. I don't think there will be any significant changes. The Tagalog edition was changed yesterday, they updated the section on handling minors who committed a serious wrongdoing, but it was a minor update.

August 2024 Study Watchtower p.27, par 6 - "Is the individual who has been removed from the congregation abandoned - left completely on his own to find his way back to the cult Jehovah?"

Many JW apostates heretics have not lost faith or belief in Christianity - only in the apostatic WTBTS and their equality with Jehovah.

Disfellowshipping? Removing? Same thing. No different than what other cults, and religions, call excommunication. They might have watered down the shunning, at least in some cases (not for those who are "apostates" or simply want out of a bad marriage), but there is still the same threat of everlasting destruction. And how long before they are going to puke even that gain back up, at least on a local or regional basis?

Joey -Did the devil know that God would prevent Adam and Eve from taking fruit from the tree of life and continue living? If he didnt, he didnt lie.

The answer to this question is, yes.

The snake knew God would prevent Adam and Eve from reaching out to the tree of life for the simple reason that he was present when God warned Adam. We know this because it was the snake that initiated the conversation.."did God really say..?..."

The snake understood it was the tree of knowledge that was prohibited, not the tree of life. The snake knew that eating from the tree of life is what would keep Adam alive, while ceasing to eat its fruit signified death.

    Therefore, the snake lied.

The way I see it, they are trying to confuse outsiders about disfellowshipping. However, in the process, they are also confusing their own members. Zero contact is easy to understand. But saying you can greet someone at the hall or encourage them to return to being a Jehovah's Witness is not exactly clear. This doesn't make the rule easier to enforce either. So, I expect a lot of people will start breaking that rule.

"I saw you eating at the restaurant with your kid."

"But we talked about how he could come back to Jehovah!"

It's not black and white anymore. They're trying to confuse the governments and lawmakers, and are confusing themselves in the process.

Nicolaou -The most important of those statements was a direct response to God's warning not to eat the forbidden fruit. God said; “because on the day you eat from it, you will die!” Satan’s response? “You won’t die.” Genesis 3:4 CEB
So who was telling the truth? Did Eve die on the day she ate from the tree of knowledge? No. The Devil had told the truth, God had lied.

    Nicolaou, are you sure?

What did the devil say again? "You won't die".

Eve died. So who was the liar?
