" is this god you are referring to the same one that all these Islamics worship? "

Absolutely ! The YHWH of the Israelites, the jews, Christians and of Islam is the SAME god !

And like all gods, does not exist, and never has, all gods were made up by men.

This particular god is a stark example of that, as we know exactly in History when he was made up, we know which peoples did so, and when he was introduced to the Israelites by those peoples. *

Eventually after a few Centuries he came to be viewed as the only god who should be worshipped.

So , the Thread Title should be "Why worship a god that does not exist ? "

    * See the Book "The Early History of God" by Professor Mark. S. Smith.

Here's a little song for you:-

Men make Gods of wood and stone

But the true God they've not known,

Ours is God Almighty as he's often shown.

    Big chorus

    We're Jehovah's Witnesses

    We speak out in fearlessness...

No doubt that will be buzzing through a few heads now. I still find it difficult to believe that I was fooled into this twaddle from a baby onwards. So many years wasted for so many.

In other words, man is God?

I think "men are gods" is a more accurate phrase.

WHY? Because RELIGION/belief in a God is BIG business! Like music, if you can come up with some catchy concepts and lines with a nice sound you (or your chosen guru/pastor) can make a great living!

"In (just) the United States, religion contributes approximately $1.2 trillion annually to the economy, making it equivalent to the 15th largest national economy in the world. This figure encompasses contributions from religious institutions, faith-based charities, and businesses inspired by faith.

    Here's a more detailed breakdown:
    • Religious Congregations:
Religious congregations, like churches, synagogues, mosques, and temples, contribute approximately $418 billion annually.
  • Religious Institutions:
Institutions like universities, charities, and healthcare facilities affiliated with religious organizations add another $303 billion to the economy.
  • Faith-Based Businesses:
Businesses inspired by faith, ranging from Halal and Kosher food industries to religious media, contribute an estimated $437 billion. "
