Upon researching the historical activity of the WTS. it becomes clear that the head editorial writers of this religious publishing house propagated many formative lies or unproven speculations framed within its own bible theological interpretations..

Going right back to its earliest inception the head writers of the WTS proclaimed that Christ has returned and that mankind was going occur a dramatic change through this returning establishment of Christ, as prophetically told though bible scripture.

The first year devised by the WTS of this return was 1874 and through means of using an obscure measurement of the Great Pyramid of Giza 1914 was to be the year of Armageddon.

The 6000 years of mankind's existence was used at that time as well ( early 1900's) to support this supposed code cracking, which was used once again in the late 1960's to create 1975 as another year of significance. The leaders of this organization told its followers to not get married , not have children, not to purse education because the end of this system of things was closely imminent.

What these leaders rather suggested is become a full time distributors of the WTS's literature locally or abroad in distant lands. Many did only to realize that nothing happened to what the WTS leaders said was going to happen. Unfortunately many are now elderly without any retirement funding to support themselves toward health and their own personally needs.

There are too many documented lies forwarded by this organization to list on one post but the overall ending conclusion to all of these endeavors was to exploit people emotion's, insecurities and ignorance, accomplished through its own published literature.

Regrettably due to its long standing existence there has been a broad scope of power and money that had been developed over the years, focused toward men which has made this indulgently corrupt organization sustain itself to this day.

a 137 year old fraud, and still going, the good thing to see is the growth and slow down and the masses that are leaving it, a poisonous, repulsive, murderous, dirty, seedy, dishonest group that that are far far worse than the so called churches of Christendom that they have so vehemently condemned over the years, religion a snare and a racket? Yes it all is!

The purpose? money simply, I never paid much attention at the time due to the propaganda lies and dishonesty we were fed over the years but there was money in it, when we charged for the mags and books on the D2D work, they were quids in because they were paid for it twice! and when the contribution arrangement was discontinued the R&F still paid , it wasn't until all those years later and reading Ray Franz' works that we realised how cheaply those mags and books were to produce with the amount of free (slave) labour , many people have an interest financially in the WTS, look at the many sub cooperation's that are part of it, I always wondered about that.

The WTS used the appealing ideology of the Gospel of the bible and the return of Jesus into a commercialized venture or acts of charlatanism, exploiting people's ignorance and fears to essentially turning these people into their own sales representatives and recruiters.

One of the pressing chores for the leaders of this organization now is trying to white wash over its previous past as self indulgent charlatans.

Its a shame that so many people had to die because of these men and their opportunistic self empowering ploy but perhaps they at least left a observational reminder of how men can be so allured to power and the preceding detrimental folly that results toward ones who adhered to that imposing self empowerment .

It just dawned on me...I always thought it's a bit strange that some MLM companies (like ACN) display (cultish) behaviour similar to JW.borg....

Makes sense...basically the Borg is a MLM company...but one where everyone pays, never gets any reward, and they demand more of your time.

Man I wish my parents had brought me up in a decent MLM company....could have been rich and retired by now :-p

Something to reflectively keep in mind is that when the WTS leader ( J. Rutherford) said that god had exclusively chosen him and the Watchtower Corporation as a direct channel for all mankind toward his earthly arrangement in1919, this organization was still preaching the absurdly devised theology of Pyramidolgy .

This fellow continued to preach and publish that mankind was living in the last days and had built and lived in a luxurious house which he lived with his adulterating mistress, not his wife from whom he had separated from. Not to mention bought and consumed illegal booze and drove around in Cadillac cars that only the very rich could afford during the great depression.

Yes god would have chosen this guy , its so obvious.

Their masters were the early Christian scribes. They even wrote forgeries so as to maintain the early Christians expecting the return of Jesus. The Second Letter of Peter is one of these examples. Another one is the Apocalypse of John, whose author was a liar who invented visions where Jesus said "I am coming soon".

Religion is bullshit whether its from the mouths of the ancients or the mouths of modern men, particularly those who run and operate their own publishing house, then the bullshit really flies.

Finkel, this book might interest you. It was written in 1917 but much of it is still relevant today. (on a side note, Upton was liked by the Golden Age editors and was featured in some of the early magazines - the Golden Age was a pro-Socialist rag)
