What a shyte couple of weeks, my dad talking about death (seems to have stabalised but still very ill), tonight my wifes sister involved in an car/bike accident and went in for emergency surgery at 10pm, smashed her knees. Not sure how everything else is. Anyhows, my wife will set off in the morning to spend the week nursing her sister who lives alone, all this and both of them have deadlines to meet at university by the end of May, stuff it huh.

There's a great superstition here that bad things come in 3's, I'm glad having been a JW I dont believe this. (Knowing our luck it will probably come in 5's instead...lol)

I think there must be something wrong with me as my stress levels have fell this evening and I feel fine..huh. Last week I had it up to here with everyone and put my foot in it at work, speaking ones mind is never appreciated by work collegues, now I feel fine and have to deal with the agro I caused while stressed, it aint on. Why cant they all just leave me be, just because I gave em all dirty looks and said bad things. geesh, people are so touchy.

So as you can see, even good people get bad luck.

    Hope all goes better soon.

Sorry to hear about your family, Brummie.

Yeah, I've heard of that superstition too. The nurses at all the hospitals I've ever worked at here in the USA say it. So when something bad happens, they count and wait to the third one (maybe weeks apart) and say see. Happens in 3. Then they start the count again. lol @ superstition.

actually Brummie, i have seen this happen. When my mom was in a nursing home, there would be a series of deaths, and within a short time , 3 people would have died. all the nurisng home staff believed it. A lot of nurses do to. I know it is not all that scientific and is superstious, but i've seen it.

Of course the upshot ot all this is, if u have a 100 people with a mean age of 80+ something is bound to go wrong with someone at all times.

weeks apart!....too funny. The lengths people go to to confirm superstition huh.

    , if u have a 100 people with a mean age of 80+

lol I guess that could have something to do with it. In 1990 we lost 3 members of our family one after the other, a lady came to me saying "see I told you things happen in 3's, I told you, you wouldnt have it would you?" then a 4th one died and then a 5th apart from 2 all the others were very old, they all went in 1990.

    Hey Brummie,

Sorry to hear about your family's difficulties and I hope you'll all have an end to the problems/crises for awhile, sounds like you deserve a break. As for bad things happening in threes...I dunno! I've heard the expression but I'm not superstitious so I never pay much attention. But then, like an old song says, "if it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all"...that pretty much sums up my life!

Why cant they all just leave me be, just because I gave em all dirty looks and said bad things. geesh, people are so touchy.

LOLOL yeah, for real! What's their problem anyway??

I was thinking about you just yesterday and I have been writing a PM in my head most of today. I was a little worried about you since you hadn't been sniffing round here lately.

I'm very sorry for your situation. Never rains but pours, eh? All I can say mate is just take 'em one day at a time and don't think about tomorrow. Today has enough for you.

I don't believe bad things happen in 3s, but I do believe life goes in cycles. Undoubtedly you are in a down one at the moment, but life has a way of evening out and you'll be back on the upswing soon. But in the meantime, try giving yourself a little gift once a day. By that I mean something like a quiet 10 minutes to drink a cuppa, staying in bed 5 minutes longer in the morning, etc. Little things that you consciously give yourself mean a lot. It doesn't change your situation but it can help your stress level.

Keep us posted. Good luck my friend.

Thanks BT, your the good sort, I've just told my boss I have to take the week off work so my wife can be with her sister 200 miles away. I get to stay home with the kids, anyway this will be a good break from work and time to catch up on the extra five hours per day sleep, oh did you say 5 mins?

For some strange reason I dont feel stressed like I did last week (hadnt been that stressed for years), perhaps I popped the stress level tonight...pretty darn kewl thing to do huh.

Safe4kids, I swear I dont know what their problem is, perhaps they dont like the vicious lies I told about them or something, either way I think they are just being dramatic.
