Anybody into art out there? I was just so blown away by this piece I had to share.

At first I was just like "oh, that's a clever idea". But the more I look at this painting the more I'm blown away. It's not just fall and winter - it's actually summer and spring too. It's the perfect continuity of water and sky and autumn and spring falling and sprouting into the winter landscape.

I hope you'll take a moment to get lost in the painting. It's quite remarkable. Anyone else come across paintings they get lost in that they can share?

I must admit it is very clever and intriguing.

However i have to ask what is the image in the top centre of the screen ? What does that represent ?

Neil Simone (1947- ) British surrealist painter

Interesting, but must say though, a bit too 'commerical arty' for me (not that there's anything wrong with that, of course!)

I think it's the top of the easel

Smiddy, The image at the top center is the top of the easel holding the canvas in place.

I am at this very moment reading a book with an illustration on the front cover very similar to this painting. Click on "search inside" to view it enlarged.

It must be the same artist.

But the concept is slightly different. In the case of the illustration on the cover of the book I am reading, it seems to be posing the question: how can you be sure the reality behind the representation is accurately depicted?

    Haha, no - that's a Rene Magritte

    Edited to add:

It's displayed at the Minneapolis Institute of Art
