MY DAY'S LONG AND ARDUOUS JOURNEY winds down.

Infinite night gracefully descends and takes me into her

    Welcomed embrace.

I have no reason to fear the inevitable,

That transition into a higher and

    More glorious state

    Than allowed me upon this

    Beautiful but angst-filled

    Habitation.

I rejoice in what has been

    Prepared from early on.

    I await the call . . .

Wow, good writing. Did you write this yourself?

Will you post some more tomorrow?

    THE WANDERER

    I am going home, yet not without sorrow;

for too long have I been adrift.

There was no place to call my own nor

    anyone to take me in.

The price I paid for careless days of youth

spent has been far too dear.

I look upward to a welcoming sky that beckons,

    reassuring that, soon, this

wanderer shall be home, in the warm and loving

    embrace of the cosmos . . .

The time approaches; the sound of the rapids are no longer distant.

We mend fences and batten down the hatches, steeling ourselves for the inevitable.

Though billions have gone ahead of us, are WE ever ready?

This not normally my style, but I will give it a go:

Night may have fallen but tomorrow is a new day

What might I face next; who can say

Will my future be short or long; I do not know

What will I do? Where will I go?

I am bound to face trials and tragedies along the way

I might get knocked down, but I won't fade away

I am going to use my time; so much more to do and see

Whatever happens, my ethics and pride will always remain within me.

As we await the call we laugh we are like april the giraffe

Are millions staring at our cage our lives performed upon a stage

Like April we don't have a clue we search the cage for what is true

Our lives are timed and then it's done It doesn't feel like that much fun

But as she paces through her pain and munches on her tasty grain

We watch her as she tries to birth that's how it is here on the earth

    Hey, Nancy.

    Nothing yet.

April's babe/calf is taking its own sweet time.

It's funny that millions are tuned in and she's become the most famous giraffe on the planet.

She looks like she's ready i hope it's a girl.
