It freely adds to the word of God to fits its doctrines.

It splits up families over birthday celebrations

    It rejects independent thought

It disfellowships members who disagree with any teaching from headquarters.

It creates myths about extra biblical invisible events happening on extra biblical dates to prove it's own authority

It repeatedly has engaged in phony prophetic speculation based on unscholarly and abusive interpretive practice.

It does not apologize for incorrect and foolish commands of men presented as commands of God.

It does not apologize even for commands that have resulted in needless physical suffering and death of its followers.

It insists on placing ultimate faith in men snd their word over God and his word.

It falsely claims its members are the happiest, most loving and moral people on earth.

It adds faith in men to the salvation formula.

It insists on absolute obedience to amateur would-be scholars ; men without credentials who claim to have been chosen to lead the faithful; men who don't know Greek or Hebrew; men who cover up association with the wild beast; men who do not protect children as proven by the ARC, who fail to report child abuse cases to police to protect their own image; men who claim to be Spirit directed and have angelic quidance; men who claim to teach truth which changes again and again sometimes back to original positions; men who add to the gospel of Christ despite Paul's warning.

These all prove the religion of Jehovah's Witnesses is the one true religion.

Oh yes, they have hell right as do a number of other religions and they don't baptize members of the military or people in political positions as the early church did.

Can we add to this list?

Of course, no Religion can be true, unless a person has a weird and incorrect view of what "Truth" is. Truth is that which accords with Facts and Evidence. Real, testable evidence that will withstand any scrutiny.

No religion can offer that, as all their beliefs are based upon ideas and stories made up by men.

I agree with your Post, and in the light of it, and my comment above, isn't it the height of Irony that JW's refer to their pile of nonsense as "the truth" ?

That is the problem with those who are involved in a cult, they just can't think for themselves and expect others to do the thinking for them. I believe that is the definition of a lazy person. I'm thinking about my JW mother when I say this.

And to think the GB makes recognition of their bogus authority and religious teachings as necessary to believe in and submit to in order to be saved from ultimate destruction.

It has members who can't seem to help but constantly get in your face and won't take no for an answer? :smirk:

Best way - only way - is if that TRUE god revealed itself unequivocally.

Like talking to everyone in the world at the same time, telling us all who it is and what it wants from us.

Not from some piece of crap book from a bunch of goat herders from 3000 years ago that can be made to say whatever anyone wants it to say.

It creates doctrines which are opposed to the holy scriptural texts to which it proclaims it faithfully and accurately adheres to.

Such as , like knowing exactly when Jesus took to his heavenly throne and also returned to earth invisibly in 1914 .

Do you think it's the one true religion -------------> It's not the one true religion

Do you think it's not the one true religion ------------> It's not the one true religion

Are you unsure of whether it's the one true religion ---------------> It's not the one true religion

It teaches that every other person and organisation is under the control of Satan, thus essentially isolating its members from ordinary people.

    1. It believe that New Light that becomes Old Light and then becomes New Light again is God's way of doing things.

    2. It thinks "The Finished Mystery" which was released in 1917 was "meat in due season".

    3. It thinks that a door slamming shut is actually a form of persecution against the righteous.

    4. It thinks the "New World Translation" is the least biased and most accurate translation of the hebrew and greek books known collectively as the Bible.

    5. For whose followers the word "apostate" makes them shiver in terror.

    6. Its many followers have no construction skills and they still go to all the nearby quick-build Kingdom Hall projects.

I will stop now, or else gets boring for others.
