PIMA is best so it’s not a shock to the system if the tower collapsed

JohnR1975: Ita far as safer to be physically in for the amazing social life and the fact they are so well taken care of

I have to agree with the others: if you think JWs enjoy an amazing social life and are well taken care of, then you really need to get out and discover what it's like to have an actual social life and true personal and financial security. Most JWs are trapped in a kind of social hell that they have to pretend is normal so that they don't go insane.

The only truly happy still in JWs I know are what a friend and I call "Jet Set" witnesses.

    They several things in common:

#1 They have plenty of money. They inherited it or ignored the endless counsel to "put Kingdom interests first" during their earning years.

#2 They are fun-loving. No Debbie Downers allowed.

#3 They ONLY travel, party, and closely associate with people who keep their MOUTHS SHUT about "questionable conduct" within the group.

#4 They are in reasonably good or better health.

KerryKing what Christian religions are you familiar with ? So often on here l read descriptions of religion that l just don't recognise.

In order to love your neighbour as you love yourself firstly you have to love yourself . My religion tells me to be kind , to take care of the widows and orphans , to strive for justice and peace .

Which is just as it should be.

It’s a social club at this point and for the older Witnesses there just coasting, that’s fine for them.

It’s a social club for everyone these days. The young ones only stay for the friends in the cong.

we are all just coasting even the elders it’s easy being JWlite! You could turn upto any meeting and give any part with zero preparation. It’s all just videos and q&a!

its been compared to being a Trekkie or similar

you may not like Star Trek anymore but still go to events to see the people you have known for years.

you know Star Trek is fictional but its nice fictional and maybe some tiny parts may have a even tinier slithering of a resemblance of truth in the future

Yes all those things are to be encouraged with JWlite!

there is a 90 days sanction (rest basically) if you are caught celebrating birthdays or something and you are not repentant. If you say sorry and you agree with the GB nothing will happen.

if you say you don’t quite agree with the GB on this and you are not sorry then the 90 things comes into play.

what this means is there will be an announcement that so and so is no longer a JW. 90 days later the elders are told to grovel and beg the person to agree to return to the congregation. The CO has to tell the elders off and ask why enough wasn’t done to get them to return with the 90 rule.

my oh my how things have changed

So now it seems they are backtracking on the judgement locust message will they remove all those videos of that poor old Sister saying to the two elder brothers if I’m scared to go to the Ministry now then What will it be like when we have the judgement message where we tell people it’s too late you’re going to die there’s nothing you can do.

They’re gonna have to backtrack on all this maybe remove those videos

I’m finding this whole thing, fascinating watching the tower slowly fall

Physically in and mentally agnostic PIMA is the best way to be with all the changes now you can be open about being agnostic

if you said you don’t believe the governing body are who they claim to be then this could be considered apostate if on the other hand you instead openly say I have doubts if the governing body are who they claim to be but I don’t know for sure then you get love bombed you get invited out more you get treated so well

its advantageous now to express doubts and to tell the elders you used to have strong faith but now it is waning. You can have lots of attention and invites out if you want to.

Im not sure how long you could milk this though because soon I can see it becoming the norm rather than the exception.

this years regional convention will be interesting. There’s a whole load about being physically and mentally out but will they make videos about those who are physically and mentally agnostic

How TF is it advantageous to set yourself up for mental abuse.

Stop lying to yourself, people that only love you conditionally are not your friends.

When I talk to people who are physically and mentally still in I can tell that they so need it to be true.

They truly NEED it to be true because they have so much invested. In fact, many dare not accept the fact that WT prophecies are wrong because it would prove them so ignorant and gullible. (Don't I know it!)

They ONLY travel, party, and closely associate with people who keep their MOUTHS SHUT about "questionable conduct" within the group.

I think we were in this kind of group. I know most of our peers ignored the ban on oral sex and frequently enjoyed a few extra drinks.

openly say I have doubts if the governing body are who they claim to be but I don’t know for sure

Just ask a JW if they think it's possible that Jehover would allow an apostate to creep into the GB and deceive the faithful. While they hesitate to reply (and they will hesitate because they are fearful of what they are saying), simply add that "He already has! Remember Ray Franz?" "Think of all the doctrines that had to be "corrected" when he was discovered to be apostate!"

I'm not sure painting Ray Franz as a baddie is a particularly sound approach. 🤔 You're just reinforcing wrongly held prejudices and stereotypes when you do that.

But it is a good point: how can they claim divine protection and guidance, while admitting that one of their own governing body turned out to be an apostate?
