The Talmud describes centuries of Rabbinic opinions about who, when, where of Job. Some placed him in Egypt, some Edom, some Arabia. Was he a Jew or not? Some say he lived at the Exodus, others, said time of Abraham, others said Jacob. The imagination is the only limit. Other more grounded Rabbis understood the story and character as allegorical.
