All good choices; I'll have to increase my budget. Only one hole allowed in my CD's. I have heard some who purge their CDs by adding more holes, target practice.

I am a pianist or piano player depending on the assessment of my skill. I am working on some piano sonatas right now. Not on the scale of Farkel, a past poster.

Play clarinet and guitar, but not with the same skill as piano.

I have discovered Rachmaninoff as well as Prokofiev. Listening to Rhapsody Paginini, I realized this was the theme of the movie, Somewhere in Time.

Beethoven is favorite with Mozart and Chopin neck and neck. My tastes find it hard to get past the 1930's. My piano teacher told me that it was because the arts were dramatically affected by WW1 with many dark themes after that, many composers and so on coming out of that period.

While not composing himself, my piano teacher has taught me composition and I have dabbled in that now that I understand the basic infrastructure.

Listening and playing music is a satisfying solo endeavor which can transfer over to smaller groups. I have played in informal quartets and played for singers.

    Keep them coming.

    Love, Blondie

135 famous classical pieces over 8 CDs.

First launched by EMI UK in 1988, The Classic Experience took Britain by storm, riding high in the UK charts alongside the top rock and pop albums of the day. The recently launched CD format was just beginning to take off and there was a new hunger for discovery of great classical music amongst the mass market.

Three more volumes appeared over the following years, making it one of the most successful classical compilation series of all time. The album covers were a particular point of interest, featuring specially commissioned artworks which included visual references from the music featured on the discs. Listeners would spend hours searching the cover artwork looking to recognise the smallest of details!

To mark the 25th anniversary of the launch of this series, all four volumes are brought together into one attractive 8CD clamshell box set, and featuring all the original album artworks.
