She is too funny!!! Of all the people.......

She was on Regis & Kelly this morning. I think she needs all the press she can get. They fawned on her like she was the Madonna or sumtin!

LONDON (Reuters) - U.S. pop superstar Madonna ( news - web sites), one of music's richest performers, has attacked her fellow Americans for being obsessed with the "wrong values" such as getting rich and looking good.

Madonna told the Radio Times that Americans had opportunities people in other countries did not have but got caught up in superficial dreams.

"We as Americans are completely obsessed and wrapped up in a lot of the wrong values -- looking good, having cash in the bank, being perceived as rich, famous and successful or just being famous," Madonna told the television listings magazine.

"It's the most superficial part of the American dream and who would know better than me? The only thing that's going to bring you happiness is love and how you treat your fellow man and having compassion for one another."

The interview coincided with the release this week of Madonna's latest album "American Life."

The album -- her first in three years -- received poor reviews and left many critics asking if pop's most successful chameleon had lost her touch after 20 years at the top.

"American Life" comes hard on the heels of the biggest flop of her career as a movie actress -- "Swept Away" which was directed by husband Guy Ritchie ( news ) and widely panned by critics and audiences alike.

But Madonna, who has embraced domestic bliss in Britain with Ritchie and her two children in recent years, brushed off the criticism.

"The critics have been writing me off for 20 years. That's nothing new. As far as I know I still have plenty of fans and sell lots of records. Do I care what critics say about me? No, and I don't read reviews."

Obviously she does not read the reviews....if she had, after her last movie, she would realize that she cannot act and would not have made Swept Away.

Its easy for someone who is an icon of wealth and beauty to chide the proles. Let 'em eat Cake, eh Madonna?

she's probably right. Still.. sometimes a person needs to know when to keep their mouth shut.

I can't think of a single problem where money doesn't make things easier.

Most people spend the first half of their lives trying to get money.

I spent the first half of my life to find the 'SECRET OF HAPPINESS".

I discovered the SECRET OF HAPPINESS is MONEY.

I plan on spending the rest of my life in pursuit of money. Along with an occasional visit to this forum.

So are you saying it's impossible for people to change their attitudes?

I think this statement sums it up for her:

"It's the most superficial part of the American dream and who would know better than me? The only thing that's going to bring you happiness is love and how you treat your fellow man and having compassion for one another."

Who better than Madonna to be the spokeswoman that living a superfical life doesn't really get you much. She has actually done it. I think Madonna has matured a lot. Unfortunately it is the younger version of herself that people will always remember her for.

Think about it...would you want to be remembered as the person you were when you were 25? Being told by everyone, "You can't change! Look at how you were when you were 25...you'll always be like that!"

We all have the advantage of not having our past on public record to keep for dissemination and critique. People will forget our mistakes, bad behaviors, and pursuit of excess.

*thinks to herself, holy crap I just DEFENDED Madonna!*

I am pretty sick of celebrity bashing here as well. If you don't care what they think or say...don't re-print it for everyone else. Celebrities are only such because we sensationalize them and follow them around. If we didn't they would be just like us.

They are people. They have opinions. Just like us! Yes they have a public platform, but you know what...if we had a hoard of reporters following us around, and then printing and choosing certain things we said, we'd all look like jacka$$'s too!

Madonna has had a child, and she has become a "disiple" of the mystical Kaballa.

I suspect she will re-invent herself as an exoteric high priestess of the night.

    Elvira, honey, look out!

Yes her studies of the Qaballah have seemed to be good for her. Quaballah has no "priestesses" or "priests" for that matter, just to get that cleared up. And Elvira is not a religious figure, although she is still kinda hot.

    "Not a religious figure"?

    I beg to differ!

I worship the ground Elvira hovers over!

Nathan.. you got me there. I have failed in my adoration of the black-catsuited one.

Oh Elvira, Godess of the B Movie.. Do Not Let the Humble Servant's Error case thee to flare in angor, for they boobies still causeth a tent to be pitched on thy humble servant.
