  According to D. Splane the Great Tribulation might be still an overlappers long life expectancy away.

  PS: If The Great Crowd are the other Sheep. Who that will be, shall not be know until the separation with the goats at the end of the great tribulation.

  When pressed, the JW's refer to this group as "Prospective" members of the Great Crowd,

  But since there is absolutely zero prospect of surviving an event that falls outside the boundaries of a human lifespan, "The end" must, of necessity occur within the lifetimes of those identified as such. --Which is why the alleged proximity of "The end" is an integral part of the teaching.
  

  In other words, it would have been impossible for someone to be a member of the "Great Crowd" (Even in prospect) in the year 1874 for example. The doctrine by its very nature precludes that possibility.

  TD, -- or perhaps this:

  Wt writers are not beyond twisting the scriptures to fit their doctrines. If you think the overlap is bad, How about a truncated Great Tribulation?

  So, the sheep have to come out of the great tribulation? no problem: wt declared the great Tribulation to have started in 1914, temporarily halted in 1918, form then on the Other sheep started coming out, during that hiatus but, the Tribulation so great will start again at Armageddon. That doctrine was current light in the 1950s.

  Great Tribulation come-out? the truth was the truce.

  Thanks TD and listener. From what I read, the other sheep were recognized in 1935 and announced as such by Rutherford at a Washington DC convention in that year. But they were actually being called from 1918 onward.

  Even if we used the 1935 date for the beginning of the call and the average age of the conventioneers was 20, they would be well over 100 today; none having gone through the alleged tribulation let alone survived it.

  Since the 144,000 heavenly call was the only call before the 20th century, that means that the millions who sacrificed thie lives for Christ and the gospel prior were not real Christians.

  WTS numbers just don't add up....both for the 144,000 and the WT version of the other sheep.

  or, if you hew the wt line, it means that all these millions of surplus partakers, and martyrs even, outside the 80 per year* "anointed" allotment, will end up on earth.
  * 144 000 minus present partaker count, -- divided by 1986, (years since pentecost 33 CE.) ~ 80 p.a.

  People with earthly outcomes have always partook. truly anointed or not.
