Didn't they see my apostate bumper sticker? How did they miss it?

The doorbell rang, I saw a woman wearing a dress, with bookbag in hand, through my door window, I knew immediately.

This is the first time they have come by since I DA'd (and I moved right around the time that I DA'd, so they weren't from my former cong).

Unfortunately I experienced a pretty heavy adrenaline rush, causing me to tense up. I said to them that I wasn't at all interested in JW's, that I had spent 10 years in their cult.

One of the women asked me, "When?"

I told her that I DA'd last March. I told her that I hope that she will look at a website such as www.freeminds.org.

She said "I'll tell the elders".

I told her she also may want to read Ray Franz's book Crisis of Conscience.

She said, "I'll tell the elders".

She was very smiling and cheery the whole time, I'd guess that she's a pioneer.

I must say, that although I was never a JW, I found the best way to get them to stop coming to my door.

Many years ago while living with my mother some JWs came to the door. I was very polite at first, giving them the "I am happy with my religion" and "I don't want to join a cult". They would not give up.

I showed the woman my pentacle (equivalant to a cross for us witches) and told her that I had found the true path for my life and I was sorry that she didn't understand that other people could find truth in religions different than hers, and that I truly hoped that one day she could open her mind to the possibility that others had the right to not be disturbed by people "pushing" their religion down the throats of others.

She tried very hard and wanted me to come to a meeting and I told her no. When she continued to push I told her that coming on the sunday would interupt my ritual killing time, a look of horror came over her face and she nearly fell down the stairs trying to get away!

My next door neighbour (a stout catholic) was killing himself laughing! He knew I was doing it to get rid of her and when she came to see him he spoke only in Italian to her (He spoke english just fine btw) so she left him alone.

They have never returned to my mother's house to witness there, and we don't even own it anymore!

Sangdigger (what does that mean anyway?)

I certainly hope that they put me on the Do Not Call list. I thought that I might be able to remain calm, but as soon as I opened the door, the adrenaline just flowed.

neverthere, that is a funny experience.

    Poor Dan!

My door bell rang at about 10:45 this AM, Ithought for sure it was the dubs....

No, just a young girl from the HS selling booster tickets to raise cash....since I know how hard it is to go up to a strange door and ask for money, I gave her $10.00.

If you can't be an athlete, be an athletic supporter!

    Dan.

My dub was here yesterday. His "studies" with me are pretty interesting because we are not using a prearranged study book. We just talk and look up the Bible. Im hitting him with all kinds of things in the course of an hour. Weve discussed Biblical false prophecy which Ive pointed out is the major sign of the Last Days in Matthew 24. Weve discussed the Child Molestation accusations on the TV, which he got very defensive about. Weve discussed "shunning" as a cultic practise and he had to admit, reluctantly, that in this practise the dubs are as bad as the Moonies. Also weve discussed, at length, whether the Jehovahs members are, in fact, living any more righteous lives than any one else. Hes agreeing with a lot of what Im saying so I figure Im altering his view of the world somewhat .

    Tina,

I guess that makes me an athletic supporter.

    RF,

I wish I'd have kept my cool a little bit more. I don't know why I'm so scared of them. My situation with my job has my nerves frazzled, especially in the mornings. I'm sure that didn't help.

That's the best line I've ever heard! I'll try that on the next telemarketer who calls.
